I have chosen to write about computers and their advancements for my final paper in my composition 1 class. I feel it is important to understand where we came from, what is available now, and where we might be going. So within this paper I have decided that I will start off with a little bit about the computers history. Then I will talk about the Internet such as some history, availability, uses and devices. I'll also talk about current services such as cloud and media as well as social network services that are available to users across all sorts of platforms and devices. Then I'll talk about home networks like home and work share options and current home theater options available. Finally I will finish this paper with what I think we can look forward to in the future. First of all lets begin with a little about the history of the first computers. Now I say computers instead of computer due to the fact there are so many different first computers. You see the first programmable computer was in 1936 by Konrad Zuse, it was named the Z1 Computer. Then in 1942 John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry created the ABC Computer. Two years later in 1944 John Presper Eckert and John W. Mauchly came up with the idea for the ENIAC 1 computer. It was the first real scenario where vacuum tubes were used. Four years go by then there is another first in the computer world. Then in 1948 Frederic Williams and Tom Kilburn invented the Manchester Baby Computer and the Williams Tube. Now there are 3 more which are about 11 years apart beginning with 1962 where Steve Russell and MIT invent the Spacewar Computer Game, which was the very first functional computer game on record. Then 1973-Robert Metcalfe and Xerox combined talents and ushered in a new era with the advent of Ethernet Computer Networking.
