We can say that both the cell of our body and the computer system are similar in both structure and function. We will explore a bit on how these parts of a cell structure are very comparable to that of the components of a computer. What are the structures of a cell that are similar to that of the computer system and how they function to thrive towards the particular attributes such as energy storage and the brain of the systems. The attributes of the cell we will look at are from the endoplasmic reticulum, nucleus, vacuole, mitochondria and the plasma membrane which comparable to the random access memory, central processing unit, hard drive, power supply unit and the firewall respectively of a computer. The first attribute is the endoplasmic…show more content…
The mitochondria is surrounded by an envelope of two membranes, the inner being folded to form cistenae. It contains a matrix with a few ribosome, a circular DNA molecule and phosphate granules. In the mitochondria aerobic respiration which provides energy, takes place and the cristae are sites of oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport, and the matrix is the site of Kreb’s cycle enzymes. In aerobic respiration cristae are the sites of oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport, and the matrix is the site of kreb’s cycle enzymes. The cell uses aerobic respiration as a major source of ATP, which provides energy. The kreb’s cycle provides the cell with large amounts of energy to carry out its various processes. The fifth attribute is the chloroplast which is similar to that of a computer’s monitor. The chloroplast is the site where photosynthesis in which light is provide and comparable to the monitor of a computer as the monitor provides light for the computer. The chloroplast of a cell is large plastid containing chlorophyll and carries out photosynthesis. The chloroplast is surrounded by an envelope of two membranes and contains a gel-like stroma through which runs a system of membranes that are stacked in places to form grana. It may store starch and the stroma also contains
