Ellen Satter’s “How to Feed Children” Analysis There are multiple habits and strategies when feeding your child. The methods drastically change as the child gradually develops and matures. Satter lists steps that help direct an unaided or unsure parent toward the correct habits of eating behaviors at ages ranging from newborn to adolescent. Feeding a newborn can not only be rewarding but also challenging. Satter believes that the best method for newborns is “feeding her the way she wants to be.” One must pay close attention to her cues of crying or behavior.
Such methods included designed instructions, reading, practice interviews, and feedback by the HAAF project. The study made sure that the data being obtain was actual creditability by triangulation methods. They audiotape the participants, to go back if necessary when gathering data. The questions that were of interest in the analysis of the study was the participants perception on weight, nutrition, and eating habits during pregnancy. I have also looked at legislation, policies and discrimination. In health and social care, it is important to be careful with what you say and do. This is so that you do not cause offence to anyone or discriminate against a certain individual or group of individuals. It is important to promote anti-discriminatory practice when working in health and/or social care settings however; when you are implementing this, there can be some difficulties.

At last count, almost half the nation’s infants were on WIC which serves people up to 185% of the poverty level. If this program were to be cut, it would affect the poor that already run low on resources and nutritional direction. A number of studies have shown that WIC is associated with better birth outcomes for at-risk populations. WIC has also repeatedly shown to return well- every dollar spent on WIC reduces health care and other costs between 1.77 and 3.50.
