Intelligent people get better grades because they get higher CST scores. As a result I would want better grades so I am able to be in honors classes. I also want good grades because I could go to a better high school. In addition, I would rather be more intelligent because that no one can take it away from me. Another benefit of being smart is that I have a chance to go to a better college or university.
Schooling life is a important part to all of the teenagers. Since they start their school life, every day they meet their classmates and teachers more than their parents. The “A” students have good performance in all of the test, teachers love them. But they don't have friends in school nor clubs. Isn't it a big problem we have to worried about?
Many of these kids think they’re on the right track because they pass classes and are moved along with the rest of the class. These kids lack reading, math and other important knowledge they will need after high
Though, merit-based scholarships do apply more pressure on students who are already under a great amount of pressure trying to achieve the highest SAT or ACT scores to even qualify for their “dream college,” but merit scholarships are not entirely based on these tests, and “[considers] a range if factors that include grades, essays, and so on.”(Staples) Students don't have to freak out about not getting the perfect score, but need to focus on being a relatively good student, and preform at a high academic level of education, or performance ability. Some may argue that merit-based scholarships tend to serve “high-achieving students – ...whom don't need the money to attend college”(Hamilton College to End Merit Scholarships in Favor of Need-based Aid). This idea applies the generalization that the only students that do well in school or that perform better, are the ones with money. But merit-based scholarships do not go to students who have the most money, but the ones
I think what makes a good student is a hard worker that is going towards success and not following but leading. Another thing that makes a good student is someone who has good behavior, works on their school work, participates and puts forth effort. Another example of what makes a good student is somebody who takes a risk at class work they don’t know. That’s what really makes a good student because if they try hard and practice they will become a success. Those are the things I think make a good student.
Unfortunately, the FCAT does not evaluate student’s performance correctly due to students that fall under pressure. The pressure that student’s feel and encounter is also known as test anxiety. According to Channel 7 reporter Erica Rakow’s in the article “FCAT Stresses Students Out, she claims” The responsibility of passing both reading and math portion of the FCAT in 10 grade adds a stressful ambiance to students who really do not want to retake it as a junior (par.2). Rakow also points out “That responsibility includes promotions to the next grade, and future funding for their school. Some students get so worked up about the test they can’t even get through it (par.3).
Pet Peeve Speech In school the idea that we all learn differently and in our own ways is stressed to us from kindergarten right up to your senior year. I don't disagree with that at all, in fact I feel deeply that we all do in fact learn in ways unique to us. The teachers and staff here at Iron Mountain High School do a fantastic job of catering to the needs of individuals who have troubles grasping concepts or just can't seem to understand something the first time it's explained to them. Once again I'm fine with that, but not everyone needs that much help. Not everyone wants that much help!
At that time this will give room of improvement with tutors and other resources that will allow the students to achieve higher grades. The student will be committed to setting higher goals for themselves because of the expectation that is placed on them from the
This ensures that the student will have more confidence in themselves because of their achievements in martial arts. This will give students who have low self-esteem high self-esteem or improvement in their self- esteem. This will give each student a better image of themselves of who they are and what they have accomplished in martial arts. Each student learns self-defense techniques to protect themselves when needed. The martial arts students will learn how to respect themselves more and how to respect other people around them.
Increased use of the arts can raise the self-esteem of struggling students, thereby making them more successful” (p 21). Art does not just serve as a form of communication for English language learners or others who can’t adequately tell a story. Teachers offer bilingual and limited English students more freedom to work with ideas and express
