310.2 - ETHICS I. Competency 310.2.3: Ethics Programs A. Standards & Procedures The code of ethics can only be defined upon the establishment of a company mission/ vision statement, at which point policies and procedures can then be aligned with this vision. When a clear, consistent direction is defined, it is much easier to provide proper ethics training for current and future employees, as well as ensure that both employees and clients alike are treated fairly/ equally. An ethics and corporate governance officer at the executive level shall be specifically designated to undertake the task of designing, executing, and monitoring the implementation of such an ethics code. This code shall cover all aspects of corporate behavior, from discrimination, sexual harassment, conflict of interest, et cetera. The designated ethics officer will be responsible for foreseeing any potential noncompliance and putting into place applicable and reasonable consequences for doing such. B. Training Program Training should be provided, if not made mandatory, to all employees and subcontractors on an annual basis by a designated compliance officer. A designated officer will be directly responsible for the design, compliance, training and implementation of the established company code of ethics. One common way of monitor such is through an anonymous hotline system, in which employees may call at any time to report a violation of any type or degree without fear of retaliation. This information should be provided at the time of training, and its use encouraged
