Comparison Matrix Paper Danet Garcia Lopez Grand Canyon University LDR-800 Introduction The purpose of this paper is to make a comparison between empirical articles on leadership practices that relate to the ethical use power, authority and motivation. Along the lines of this paper, I am going to describe three articles in the areas mentioned. The first article is “Potential power and power use: An investigation of structure and behavior” by Daniel J .Brass and Marlene E. Burkhardt (1993). Brass and Burkhardt (1993) investigate the association among the configuration and performance and the probable collaboration effects on insights of influence in the organization. Brass and Burkhardt (1993) coincide that their study is limited. They cautioning the readers or others investigator to not generalize their study’s results to other organizations; due to the flexible environment in the organization examined. Another limitation is the quantity of mechanical and interactive variables that could essentially be involved. Thus, they did not have comprehensive lists of any possible foundations of authority or tactical actions. Brass and Burkhardt (1993), suggested upcoming investigation covering the study at both the micro and macro stages of examination. In the case of Olekalns and Smith (2009), the limitations found were the accepting of disappointment in mediation would be additionally amplified by investigation that prolongs opportunity of disappointment further than insignificance matters. Another limitation was that the authors were not capable to identify whether disappointment caused feelings of nervousness and hopefulness, or whether these feelings caused disappointment. Olekalns and Smith (2009) described further possible research in the feelings that can be influenced clarify the relationship between feelings and disappointment, and a methodical exam of how the feelings stability and the inevitability expressive disappointment influence. In the last article, Wiltermuth and Flynn (2013) also, find that the study measures clearness of ethical decision with respect to right performances versus right ethical quandaries. The study also suggested future studies capacity to study whether ethical clearness really reasons individuals to discipline others more sternly for ethical misbehaviors or if the knowledge of managing severe reprimands causes individuals to reexamine their interpretations of the performance as censored and
