Because of this, the modern definition of 'family planning' has lead to some controversy amongst politicians within America. For example, the Republican Party are ideologically conservative, meaning they are a political party which aims to preserve traditional cultures and fashions, for example Christianity being taught throughout all schools. Because Christianity is often seen as the countries' traditional and original religion, republicans argue that Christianity is closely associated with American identity, therefore the eradication of it being taught compulsory within schools is against traditions. For the same religious reasons, the Republicans disagree with family planning schemes such as abortion,- the Republican Party would normally disagree with abortion as it goes against the Christian teaching known as the sanctity of life. This is the traditional teaching taught by the church which explicitly states that all human life is sacred, and so is to be protected by all Christians.
There are many people who may ask, “What is really the difference between the Republican, and Democratic party?” Some will give the most common answer; Republicans support the rich people, and Democrats support the poor people. That simple answer hardly gives me a complete answer. I want to know more about how the Republican and Democrat are different. The Republicans and Democrats have different beliefs about many things, such as: the economy, education, and national defense. I know that I don’t want someone running the country that we live in until I know a little more about them.
For many years both parties have had a conservative and a liberal wing, which has damaged the unity of each party as they have not been ideologically distinct. An example being the Blue Dog democrats, who are the more fiscally conservative wing of the Democrats. Some argue that the two parties are very ideologically distinct. The Republicans are the more conservative party of the two and have traditional family values and morals with strong ties to Christianity supporting many of its beliefs. They’re also mainly based in southern states away from the heavily and densely populated cities, this links to why they are pro-gun ownership and back the argument that the 2nd amendment gives all Americans the right to own a gun.
Also the disunity within the Republican Party brought about by the government shutdown has caused the Democrats to join together despite divisions to present a more unified party to seem a more attractive option to the Republicans and also to criticise the Republicans hounding them in the press to lower their credibility to boost the Democratic standings in the popularity polls which has also brought about a large drop in support for the Republicans. Also as for the issue of same sex marriage the Democrats are predominantly in favour of it with it endorsed even by Barack Obama himself showing the mood of the majority of most of the Democratic Party despite a small minority who oppose it (mainly the Blue Dog Democrats). Another piece of evidence that the Democrats are not very divided is that the most conservative faction of the Democratic Party, the Blue Dog Democrats has been drastically reduced in recent years their numbers being in the 50’s in past years but in the 113th congress their numbers have been reduced to 14 so their influence has dwindled to give way to the congressional progressive caucus led by Nancy Pelosi who
Private ownership prevents the government from controlling ones worth and individual liberty. That's why Jackson's amendments would contradict the purpose of the constitution by decreasing private property ownership and turn people into tax slaves instead. It is basic knowledge that a government that is permitted to take from some and give to others possesses the power to deprive anybody of their equal rights to life etc. With this declaration I feel Cuffey is overreacting, when he basically says providing free shelter to the homeless and free health care to all Americans will cause people to be less free. In Denmark I as a citizen am fortunate to be given free health care, and I certainly do not feel less free than any other American who cannot say the same.
Those Republicans who considered themselves to be liberal would be forced to choose the Democratic party and hold to their liberal ways or stay Republican and become more conservative due to Reagan’s conservative stance; likewise, Democrats would be forced to strengthen their ties to a true liberal stance. By the end of this election the two party system would be categorized by a much more polarized spectrum. This helped create a shift in how the regions voted. Southern conservatives would have to now vote for the Republican party if they wanted to stay conservative as would interest groups such as the Christian alliance groups. In 1976 Carter won the presidency largely due to his Christian voting base, and deep into his campaign of 19890 controlled the support of evangelical Christians even though all the candidates were active religious Christian according to a Gallup poll.
Where the 50p tax rate will apply to people who earn over £150,000. The liberal democrats also want the 50p tax rate but do not want a 10p tax rate like labour. Another way the parties disagree on taxation is through the introduction of mansion tax, both Labour and the lib Dems are for taxing people who own high value properties over £2 million, But the conservatives are strongly against the introduction of mansion tax. Another issue the parties disagree on is Education. This is because they all disagree on tuition fees.
Gay marriage is significantly welcome from the Green Party’s perspective, more so than by the Democratic Party, and significantly more welcome than by the Republican Party. The death penalty is also an overwhelming aspect of political campaigning. While the Republicans generally support the death penalty, the Democratic Party is lukewarm on the subject. The Green Party, on the other hand, totally opposes the death penalty, claiming that it statistically fails to deter crime. Apart from that fact, it is objectionably inhumane for us to “play God” and decide whose lives we are justified to take.
One negative aspect to his essay would have to be his bias toward conservatives and the rich. He deliberately labels out the rich in many of his examples by pointing out how they claim to be Christian but do not wish to help aid the poor. As for conservatives, he not only points out George W. Bush but refers at times to religion as “conservative religion.” This clearly shows his bias toward them and could be a way for him to associate them with the American Christianity problem. I believe McKibben has a great point on this issue. As American Christians, we always believe that if we do good deeds or help ourselves we go to heaven.
Though there are several religions established today, the official state church is the Church of England. Other public religions include Islam and Hinduism, along with minority faiths such as Sikhism, Buddhism and Judaism. Religion in Northern Ireland Northern Ireland is traditionally a Christian country, the prevailing denomination being the Presbyterian Church in England. It is the only country in the United Kingdom which provides legal protection from discrimination on the basis of religion, due to The fair Employment Act, 1989.
