This soon spirals out of control and ends up with Ricky getting shot at the train station towards the end of the film. The director is trying to show how difficult it is for young people to get out of the never ending circle of gun crime. The message of the film is anti gun crime, trying to show young people living in the poorer communities who are more vulnerable to violence or gun crime will sooner or later pay the price unless they have the strength that Ricky didn’t have in-order to step out. Gun crime is often made into a big fuss by the media and glamorised as such. It is important that violence and gun crime are talked about in films and that young people are made to see the real side of it, because people are getting killed often in events where youths are carrying guns, this often appears on the news.
This is very detailed and horrific because he is saying he won’t be able to stop his soldiers from raping the women in the city. Henry’s choice of words in this speech show us that not only can Henry influence people into fighting but he can create the illusion that disturbing things will happen if you don’t do what I say. This actually isn’t the best type of leadership because he his leading with fear. It is an effective form of leadership but it is one that doesn’t always work
Wowser adds an appeal to community service in saying it is rare ‘to find a young person who is a member of the Salvation Army’. This indicates a lack of responsibility in young people and has the intended affect to spark rage in the community. Wowser appeals to fear in readers to flare animosity in the community with the intended result of the drink driving age to be raised. Overall, the purpose of Wowser’s letter to the editor is to fiercely encourage his audience to see that it is imperative that the legal age limit of drinking and driving should be raised. Certainly his arguments and tone may appeal to an older demographic but his insulting and critical language would annoy and alienate a younger
The youth involved in gangs have been introduced to the racially discriminated environment because the hatred of other towns and the people that live there, not only because they are enemies but because of their craving of being superior, being better than another race. By being discriminated people feel sad, mad, or sometimes they might not care at all depending on their educational status. “Welcome back nigger” comments like these don’t bother uneducated gang members because the careless mind, focusing only on anything gang related which is what their life revolves. “In my younger years that wouldn’t have bothered me much. But with my new direction and expanded cautiousness, it struck me hard.” Education is the answer to a better understanding of things and a better
Instead of admitting to their heinous actions, the three men sought help from their willing ‘brothers’ to bully and persuade black and white people alike into submission and essentially cover-up the whole incident. I understand that in the face of punishment, people will do anything to ‘get away with murder’, but how can so many people feel no remorse in essentially erasing one man’s existence? It is sickening to realize that the KKK could be so effective in brainwashing an entire town. Meanwhile, the African American community likewise gave into emotion and engaged in a poorly thought out and executed plan of retaliation. Instead of fighting for Marrow’s justice and their own rights in a civil manner, the African Americans in Oxford choose to cause more damage by creating chaos and classifying
When Richard and Harrison agree to fight themselves for money they end up humiliating themselves. For the two men are unable to fake a fight and are thus forced to actually injure one another due in part to the fear that the white viewers invoke on them. This fight in the end deeply ashamed Richard for it got him to realize that violence infects the black community in general, whether from within or from the white community’s imposed violence. When Richard grows up he moves to Chicago and joins the Communist movement. However he learns quickly that the police beat protesting Communists and Richard is forced to move from one outcast group to another, never truly escaping reality.
The 18th amendment contributed to the rise of organized crime because it created a lot of underground business. From killings to people living in poverty, that’s what the prohibition caused. If people really thought that prohibiting alcohol to be sold leally were going to help the way that people lived during this time, they were wrong. A lot of people were against the law, they argued that if they banned alcohol legal businesses were going to go broke and that was not going to help the economy get better. But alcohol was not the only thing breaking families apart they said, after the war, soldiers would come home and find themselves in a whole, struggling to find jobs.
Alcohol did not create a negative impact for those who did not abuse it, but of course there always has to be those few who mess it all up for the rest of the population. During the times where prohibition was not in place, husbands would cause menacing crimes to their families due to their overdosing. The rates of child abuse drastically increased during the times before prohibition, as drunken fathers would come home from the bar causing harm to their young. Such acts caused alcohol consumption to be viewed in a negative way by groups of people and religions. To some, alcohol was considered to be “devil's juice” and was forbidden in some homes.
Some have let prostitutes go in exchange for sex. But they are the first to arrest you or give you a ticket for breaking the law or getting caught with a prostitute. Some think because they wear a badge they can get special treatment or discounts at stores Allot of police officers don't deserve a badge and people are afraid to complain against them for fear of their lives and the lives of their families. People abuse their power, teachers, preachers, and firefighters. What is wrong with these
Before people wouldn’t mind attending public functions in the city, taking their family out to parks, and other outdoor activities, but this steady increase in criminal activity has led people to be afraid to attend these functions since they can become a victim and a statistic. Due this rise in criminal activity the Belize City Council (C.I.T.C.O) has made it mandatory that all social night spots in Belize City be closed by 2:00 a.m. Other necessary steps are being taken by the Police Department to crack down on the criminal activities, and put those well known criminal elements away. By taking these necessary steps, there are some innocent people who get profiled because any one can be an element, they come
