English 101 Compare/contrast essay October 16 2013 Online and in-store shopping differentiates in various ways. However, they both are convenient ways to shop. In store shopping has been most convenient for me, but I enjoy both ways of shopping. I believe that shopping preferences change depending on a person’s situation. I noticed that many people are starting to prefer online shopping more than in-store shopping. Online shopping is most convenient for individuals that don’t have time to go to the store. Whether you’re busy with life’s hustle and bustle, kids, no way around, or hate going to stores then online shopping can be more convenient. All you have to do is type in the item you’re looking for and it’s there. Once you find the item, you can order it at anytime because online stores never close. During the holidays I do a lot of online shopping. I usually buy from websites with a huge variety of sellers ( such as Amazon, eBay) to be sure that I get the best price. When you’re looking for the best price, it requires research. The best price is more often found online, but not always. Online merchants will sometimes sell you an item for double the retail price. When the price isn’t doubled, it may be the same price plus shipping costs. This item could possibly be on sale in retail stores. In-store shopping can be most convenient for those who are rarely at home and don’t have time to compare prices. In-store shopping can also be a lot quicker since you don’t have to worry about shipping. All you have to do is grab the item you want, step in line, and buy it. I’ve had many experiences when I never received or got the wrong item through online shopping. When an item is coming from the United States, it should never take over two months to finally receive it. In the store you can actually see the item, but you have to trust a picture when shopping
