Following the scientific revolution, a new way of thinking was born. This new approach, known as the Enlightenment, sought out new ideas about government, economics, religion, and education. The Enlightenment, also known as the age of reason, reached its peak in the mid 1700’s and brought great change to the world. The ideas of the Enlightenment were based on that of philosophers; men who analyzed the divine rights of monarchs, union of church and state, social equality, and the idea of a more democratic government. Men such as John Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau, Voltaire, and Beccaria were the main people whose ideas influenced the Enlightenment and the birth and independence of the United States.

I believe that any science, innovation, study, or sort of exploration must be morally just, intended to better our understanding of the world, and be created with intention to improve any part of society. Since the begging of humanity, mankind tries to predict the soon to be future. Many scientific books and movies thrilled readers and viewers with visions of the future world. The book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and the movie Matrix directed by The Wachowski Brothers tried to put forth-such views. The strongest theme in both the book and the movie was the idea that as humanity progresses through the centuries, the advancement of science leads to perfecting the world that man lives in, which in turn conflicts with human individuality. Aldous Huxley wrote this novel in order to alarm the society in how technology is going to change our live as we know it. Most of the readers, after the lecture, wonder if our world is actually going to be worst or better in a future, if Huxley is going to be right. But other people with other backgrounds, cultures and knowledge, would have a different interpretation, reaction and understanding of the novel. Christianity believes in the individual who has its rights and liberty, they believe in an equal society in which God is the creator of all people, the world, the universe, and everything seen and unseen.
