DBQ The Renaissance, Reformation, and Scientific Revolution are the three events that affect our modern life through out our history. When Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci were spreading the idea of realism and appreciating this world, Martin Luther stood up against the Catholic Church and fought for his own authority. After that Galileo, Newton, and other important scientists had some extraordinary achievements on physic and astronomy by coming up with theories for everything. Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, human beings have been able to lead a more sophisticated life by gaining and appreciating the power of knowledge and study the world in a precise way. It was the emergence of the modern science during the 18th century, when developments in biology, chemistry, mathematic, and physics transformed people’s view on the nature. Galileo Galilei, The Father of Modern Science, improved the telescope and that’s why he found four of Jupiter’s largest satellite. The improvement on the telescope also consequent astronomical observations and support for Copernicanism. In The Starry Messenger, Galileo states,” Here we have a fine and elegant argument ``` while accepting with tranquil mind the revolution of the planets about the sun in the Copernican system```.” ( Doc.5) Without Galileo, we still would have thought the world is flat and square and we wouldn't travel much because we would think we would fall. Galileo also invented the military compass and thermometer, which inspired the improvement on modern technologies. Other important scientist like Issac Newton and Leewenhoek discovered gravitational force and bacteria. If it weren’t for these people, we would still think apple falling on our head, being sick, and getting diseases are just punishment from the God. As Rene Descartes once said,” ``` it is necessary that at least once in your life doubt``` all things.” ( Doc.6 ) These people inspired us to think and doubt the world around us, and that’s how human beings can lead to a better life.
