Samuel Adams and John Hancock were highly influential in the spurring of the American Revolution. Each contributed by provoking the American colonists into action, especially in Boston. Because of their success and direction, Adams and Hancock were elected by the colonists to multiple leadership positions. Of course, though, there would be nothing to provoke into revolution if it hadn’t been for the tyrannous British oppression. Samuel Adams was a powerful writer and orator.
He did a very good job on his presidency and he had many important achievements. I would definitely have voted for Jefferson because he was brilliant and he understood the needs of the people. As mentioned above, he helped to write the Declaration of Independence and the constitutional law. Lastly, he argued fundamentally that a federal government that had too much authority over its people would ultimately undergo a revolution. This view is largely accredited because Pitt came into office in a difficult time but events around him seemed to benefit him rather well. Britain was entering the industrial revolution at the time, industry rose up and trade would boom due to expansion of the industries at home and abroad, the advancements of technology meant that Britain was going through a natural change that arguably Pitt was able to captain through leading to better fortunes. The natural opposition from the Whig party against the king led by Charles Fox meant that Pitt naturally had the Kings support against any opposition which could be thrown at him, the king would back him up. The American Revolution and his lack of connection to it meant that he was seen as a new politician not one of the previously failed governments who’s lack of control and rule in a situation. And lastly the regency crisis of 1788 meant that Pitt could use this to gain favour with the king and gather support from his own party and draw it away from the opposition.
The author believes that Napoleon won many battles because of his enemies’ mistakes and not because of what he actually was…the greatest military mind that ever lived. I did some research of my own and found out that he is also remembered for his Napoleonic Code and his military campaigns are still taught in some military academies. Owen Connelly wrote in his book that Napoleon insisted that he would be remembered for the Napoleonic Code. And, in fact, he is. Owen Connelly’s perspective on the way Napoleon won battles is his opinion and he tries to prove it in this book.
The American War- a Revolution or not? It is well argued by many historians that the great nation of the USA came into being by a civil war and not a revolution. A civil war is when two parties from opposite groups resort to force to decide who will govern a country. It might have partly been a civil war because it’s true that the Americans were fighting against the British. However it was the first time settlers of a colony had challenged their parent country and fought hard to win their independence, and by doing so set up a government with its own laws and constitutions- which is the perfect example of a revolution.
Washington led the revolutionary war which began the birth of a new nation which goes under foreign policy, helped with the constitution that had much to do with equal rights, and dealt with the whiskey rebellion. Also Washington set the standards for all of the other presidents which was very important. The 3rd best president based off my criteria is Teddy Roosevelt. Many look to George Washington for the great things he accomplished in his lifetime. Winning the War for American Independence, being the first president, and shaping the way the Constitution was written and how the federal government was formed are all attributable to him. However, from his youth, he was a man who focused on the little details in his life predicted his behavior in large situations as they were presented to him. The mentality and experience he had from such a young age made him into the great leader he was. People who were under him as president must have enjoyed having a loyal educated president who knew what he was doing.

They found that by creating a nation, a symbol, a legal unity called the United States, they could take over land, profits, and political power from favorites of the British Empire. In the process, they could hold back a number of potential rebellions and create a consensus of popular support for the rule of a new, privileged leadership.When we look at the American Revolution this way, it was a work of genius, and the Founding Fathers deserve the awed tribute they have received over the centuries.
Washington had a very successful career, being a dominant military and political leader. He was a strong, loyal, and dedicated man that fought for what he believed in and did not back down. Without his initiative in war, the United States would not be the way that it is today. A few of his successes include leading victories over Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War, being the first president of the United States, and being very involved in the writing of the United States Constitution. Washington had great ability to lead others, lead by example, and develop others into leaders.
Battles such as Bunker Hill, Lexington and Concord, and Saratoga, gave hope to all the people and a sight of freedom in their eyes. There was no choice left but to create their on republican views and values that would respect all men and the Declaration of Independence was the beginning of that. George Washington would also step up and lead the country by giving them victory in important battles and becoming the colonist’s first president. He was the first person to be fair to even the enemy as he allowed them to escape and was what really showed the republican values and the respect, fairness, liberty, and freedom the colonies new government have been searching for.
