Orenstein began with an anecdote expressing her frustration with the princess theme, then talked about different product lines with the princess theme. From there she jumped from criticizing mothers that fell for the princess trend to how Disney’s princess product line started and finally finishes with references to studies about change in different aspects of a girl’s life. Along with their differences in approach, there also was a major difference in effectiveness. Poniewozik’s article was much more structured going from movie to movie explaining its impact on a girl’s life and stuck to one point which came across very effective. Orenstein, on the other hand, jumped from topic to topic without much of a connection and supported her claims with very little evidence, so it failed to be effective in getting her point
Gattaca was the best in terms of entertainment. It always kept me thinking about what is going to happen next. It had many twist in the plot that surprised me. The technology that was shown in the movie was very interesting to. Also, I enjoyed the entertainment from the character in the movie, Eugene, who a handicap that was virtually perfect.
He always thought of his childhood as normal, because it was what he was used to. Tim’s odd life growing up was the cause for many of the gloomy moods within the movies he has directed. A short film Burton had directed for Disney, “Frankenweenie,” was considered to scary for younger audiences. The style of that film opened doors for Burton’s unique style. Time Burton’s dark, mysterious style allowed him to show his uniqueness by using low key lighting, shot-reverse-shot, and close-ups in the films Big Fish, Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands.
In the first verse the lyric “She dreamt of para-para-paradise” appeared. This fits Jane perfectly because of her imagination and fascination with mythical and paranormal creatures. It would stand for her day dreaming, about how she would imagine ghosts and see herself differently in a mirror to be able to escape from reality. In the 6th verse the line “I know the sun must set to rise” refers to someone knowing that life has to get worse to be able to get better. This applies to Jane's life when her home life wasn't great and it just kept getting worse, until she got to go to Lowood and she liked Lowood more then home.
Why do Tim Burton and Johnny Depp work so well in their movies together? Is it the style, the characters, or could it even be the movie? Tim Burton is known for creating a twisted, unique style in his movies. He always seems to please the audiences with his different and eerie style. In the movies Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands Tim Burton uses the two stylistic techniques, mysterious tone, and a twisted mood to help convey mysterious aspects of the characters.

They were so much alike because they both were very good from the start. Some things that happened in the book, although they didn’t happen in the movie. You could really tell in both the book and movie the friendship and love with some people. If you watched the movie and read the book you might think the same thing, you might not, but here are the reasons that I think the book is better even if the movie wasn’t that bad either.

Tim Burton is an amazing story writer and director who brings real life actions to his films. He really lets you see the beautiful things in something so dark and creepy. Burton’s actions like bullying and judging people for what they look like on the outside and also what they are able to do. He reveals in his film that judging people and bullying can really hurt someone utilizing close ups and lighting to really show expressions on people’s faces when they meet Edward those two cinematic techniques also show what people feel when something happens in Edward Scissorhands.Tim Burton is an amazing story writer and director who brings real life actions to his films.
