The solution to the problem is to prevent injury by removing the source of the hazard by stopping supply; by removing the source of the hazard by stopping supply of the product, offering consumers a remedy in the form of repair, replacement or refund and warning consumers of the hazard. One solution to getting rid of tainted goods in stores is to report them to a consumer protection agency. The FDA, ACCC, and the state consumer protection offices (if you live in colorado) will all help the public by inspecting the suspicious goods and recalling them if necessary. The consumer protection agencies will make sure they are safe for the customers consumption. You can conduct a successful recall yourself by telling consumer directly by: issuing media releases, ads on T.V.
do we have our priorities in the correct order? Since when was finance of greater importance than the lives of many? As long as we let these businesses continue to expose deadly Ultra Violet radiation on the members of the public, we can be sure some people will suffer from melanoma. We must not allow any delay in one of the only plausible methods of reducing melanoma because think about it; other causes of melanoma would be the beach which obviously cannot be banned. The sooner we initiate the ban, the sooner lives are saved.
Although the contaminated products would not affect all individuals or consumers, this was indeed a huge concern. The levels of contamination were well below the current FDA standards and allegedly would not cause adverse reactions in healthy adults. However, a probability of adverse reactions exists in adults with mediocre immune systems. Consequently, it was my responsibility as the quality control manager to make a decision to pull all of the contaminated products, inform or warn consumers (existing and potential), or extend a refund or replacement policy for contaminated products.
Another way I would be proactive is to make an appointment for an examination by a dermatologist. A thorough examination by a professional could save your life. Also self-examination is also a way for early detection. Either way, being aware of any changes and alerting your dermatologist is yet another way not to play roulette with your well-being. And finally avoid all tobacco products.
This will require a goal-based approach that will shed light on success level of the plan to close the boarders (Patton, Sawicki & Clark, 2013, p. 349). Goal-based approach will be a with-and-without comparison that will evaluate how areas around the closed station do with and then without the border patrol stations located in their area (Patton, Sawicki & Clark, 2013, p. 352). Other criteria’s will be how much money is saved, how safe are the areas of the closed stations, and how effective are the extra agents that have relocated close to the
The FDA greatly investigates these companies to make sure that food, human and veterinary drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, and electronic products are safe to sell to the public. If the products turn out to be unsafe, the company will have to announce a recall. In this scenario, the FDA had yet to investigate Pro Health’s new product ProBio. Before then, Pro Health had found out that ProBio had the same brand name as another product already out for purchase. Having the same brand name as another product is also one of the things that are against the FDA’s regulations because this could protect the consumer from buying the wrong drug because of the similar names.
New studies have leaned away from the use of this feed additive, which has the potential to drastically change both industries. Beta-agonists deemed safe for human consumption by the food inspection governing bodies should be used in the production of livestock as the advantages of these additives outweigh any disadvantages. The aim of this review is to present evidence that beta
In eradicating smallpox, strategies such as ring vaccination and herd immunity were implemented, preventing each outbreak from spreading. Government policies such as mandatory vaccinations and strict quarantine contributed greatly to the success of vaccination programs against smallpox. By 1975, smallpox had been eradicated with the exception of Africa. An intensive containment and vaccination program was employed and was successful with global eradication of smallpox being declared by the World Health Assembly in 1980. Diphtheria, an infectious disease communicable through coughing and sneezing, is caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheriae.
This strategy was effective in stopping the spread of the disease. This concept, in which an adequate part of the general population is made to be immune to a disease through vaccination, thus making any spread unlikely, is called herd immunity. (CDC,2009) A third reason smallpox has been eradicated is that the World Health Organization (WHO) has assisted poor underdeveloped countries with effective vaccination programs. Not only has this eliminated the risk to those countries, but has also decreased the chance of travelers to these areas carrying the virus back to their own
“Many lives might be saved if inoculation against cow flu were routinely administered to all people in areas where the disease is detected. However, since there is a small possibility that a person will die as a result of the inoculations, we cannot permit inoculations against cow flu to be routinely administered.” In this argument, the author concludes that people should not be inoculated against cow flu. To support his conclusion, the author points out a small possibility of death as a result of inoculation. At first glance, the author’s argument appears to be somehow appealing, while a close examination will reveal how groundless it is. We do not have to look very far to see how invalid this argument is.
