Our coach would always tell us we were a “cut from a different bread”, we were not just your average joe high schooler, we were model students as well top athletes. The beautiful part of being in such a tight-knit community is that although your environment might change, your friends and support system do not. Balancing school and athletics was difficult, us athletes did not have the luxury of having ample free time to study or go to tutoring. Instead, we dealt with it the only way we knew how, we helped each other. It was common for players to hold study groups after practice, and usually, I was involved in some way or form.
Service Learning Project Community service is something that not a lot of teens would do, but it's also something they won't regret once they are finished with it. For me personally it was a enjoyable experience, that I wouldn't mind repeating. My experience happened at the second annual Latino Family Expo at the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds. The Latino Expo is a way for the latino community in milwaukee to come together and check on things that they might have questions on like Insurances, Employment, Social Services, And anything else that goes along with it. I worked at different stations through out two days that I volunteered, which helped me in a good way because I witnessed first hand how much people needed something like that and how everything tied together in one place.
I believe this truly reflects my personality as I do consider myself well-organized, responsible, and reliable. In terms of leadership, I use these traits well to ensure my team gets the job done. Because I am well-organized, I have a good mindset of what to delegate and when. My team sees me as a responsible and reliable leader. I also scored high on scale-A (agreeableness).
Happy people work harder and are more likely to stay at their jobs (Josephson, 2010). All over the world, people progressively want to convey a better sense of meaning and determination into their work

Journal #6 Immigration is a bigger deal than thought it was. Watching the film we watched last Tuesday it really showed me a lot about immigration in our country and the problems they get once they get here in our country. It made me really think about how much stuff I got for free for just being born in this country. I feel almost blessed to be a part of this country without feeling like I have to prove my citizenship. I don’t want to take the things I have for granted.
It only drove my artistic pursuit further. I wanted to show them that I could be successful doing what I wanted most, that despite being ethnically Chinese, it didn't determine my beliefs or desires, I determine them. Thanks to my parents I was lucky enough to know that doing what you love in life is what’s most important. If someone told me I could make millions by sitting in front of a computer all day doing mathematical equations and accounting,
From the people who plan the events and lead the people under them to what they are doing, to the people working for them to make their community better. It makes it so much better mentally when it goes perfectly and everyone including the people who work are happy. You learn so many life skills from what you do when you work to make your community a better place. My sophomore year of high school. I went to the longest community service event I have ever experienced.
Community Service is an important activity every person should embrace as they are growing up. Doing community service, a person will find themself and be exposed to the lifestyles of other people, which also tends to make the volunteer more aware of the needs of the less fortunate. Volunteering also contributes to the result of more teenagers being more grateful for everything they have and thus they give more. This Sophomore year I wish I had done more community service than i had done and I regret not following through with the opportunities I was given. Growing up I was taught to give more than I receive.
In time, I grew to appreciate, understand, and care for their unique needs, and as a result, time passed quickly as my communication, patience, and problem solving abilities improved. More importantly, through this one-on-one experience, I learned a lot about the community. I learned that a seemingly small gesture of kindness or support could truly make a difference in the lives of the special needs students that I worked with, and in turn, their smiles and laughter gave me a sense of
