Care values are a set of rules or guidelines that every carer has to follow to provide the right services to their patients/clients.   The relevant care values for a social care setting would be, maintaining confidentiality of information, supporting an individuals right to dignity, independence and safety, protecting individuals from abuse, acknowledging and promoting peoples beliefs and identities, providing individualised care (the right care for that certain individual) and promoting equality and diversity.   By following care values such as maintaining confidentiality of information, communication will be improved and/or supported by clients or patients will trust the carer/social worker more because they will know that whatever they tell the carer/social worker will be in confidentiality and told to no one unless they think it is at a risk or the patient harming themselves.   This will improve and support communication because the patient/client will be more comfortable with the carer/social worker therefore will open up and tell them things that they may be hiding or embarrassed of, which will improve then amount and quality of communication they will be having.   Maintaining confidentiality will support communication by it showing that it's good to communicate with a certain person like your carer/social worker because they will keep it confidential and they will open up more to the the carer/social worker and furthermore the carer will be able to find out what they need to know about the patient in order to support that individuals safety.   Other care values to do with rights and equality are, that if you give them their rights and give then the responsibility of what they are doing, this will help communication because they will respect you more and take on board what you are trying to say.
