Communicating in a Digital Age Amanda Williams Composition - English 1001 April 10, 2011 South University Technology and Communication Communicating in the Digital Age is amazing and constantly advancing every day. We use several different forms of communication social sites like Facebook.com, Twitter.com, and even things as simple to us as SMS texting, to things as advanced as face time for IPhone. Within the last 30 years we have gone from First cell phone a DynaTAC8000X weighed 2 pounds "The brick" offered just a half-hour of talk time for every recharging and sold for $3,995 (msnbc.com, 2005), to the IPhone where you can talk with really no limit on the talk time and is usually within about 400.00. They called the first phone “The Brick” because it was so bulky and heavy, it wasn’t very reliable either. The IPhone is one of the most advanced phones of our time and it does just about everything if not more than my regular computer will do. It also allows what they call Face Time where you can talk to someone thru the camera, they can see and hear you and you can see and hear them. Not to mention all of the apps that allows you to communicate online and keep your sites updated. When using the internet most people are aware of social sites like Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Youtube.com, and several others. Personally, when I am communicating with my family or friends they are able to see what I am doing when I am doing it if I want them to see it. I can post a picture from my phone immediately to Facebook.com which is linked to my Twitter.com account, and I am able to tag my friends. Tagging someone means that their name will be on the photo also. Therefore when you go to type something about a comment on the picture, still using your phone, they can see it right then from their phone wherever they are. They can subscribe to your Facebook.com
