5 How to Worship? 6 Conclusion 8 Bibliography 9 INTRODUCTION People view worship in many different ways. It is not to say that one person’s philosophy of worship is better than another person’s philosophy, if the end result is the same. Worship starts within one’s spirit and heart, then is expressed outwardly to God above. One of God’s greatest desires is to have relationship with His creation, man.
Calvin’s idea of predestination suggests that some people are God’s ‘elect’ and that, after death, these ‘elect’ will join God in heaven. Believers in predestination claim that our actions, whether ‘elect’ or ‘damned’, are predestined or decided by God; meaning that we have very little, if any at all, free will in our decision making or actions. This theory of predestination often leads people to believe in a God ‘who favours some but not all of his creation’, which would be intrinsically linked to miracles in the sense that, regardless of what we do, God has already decided whether he will interact with the world or perform a miracle. Miracles, in this sense, are seen not as unsystematic breaches of natural law but rather as the eternal intention of God for the world. For this reason, people who agree with Calvin in believing in predestination often find it difficult to understand why miracles aren’t common occurrences.
It is important that culture diversity is not lost but yet is advocates for its uniqueness instead of stereotyping one another. It I important to say we are all one and should live as such to keep harmony in our
Functionalist say that society is like a living organism and all the social institutions perform specific functions in order to help society function effectively. The sociologist Durkheim says that a key feature of religion is not a belief in Gods, spirits or the supernatural, but a fundamental distinction between the scared and the profane. The sacred are things set apart and forbidden which inspire feelings of awe and wonder. By contrast, the profane are things that have no special significance, things that are ordinary and mundane. Durkheim believed that the essence of all religion could be found by studying it’s simplest form, in the simplest type of society.
Even though he believe in God it still goes to show that there still may be some form of physical or verbal conflicts when two different types of religion people believe in a different “GOD”. In the speeches I read both individuals talked about what happened in their country as far as war. It felt like you can actual visualize that was going on in their time frame. • Why is that imagery effective or ineffective? Yes the imagery was very effective because although each individual believe in a type of “GOD” they still seem to have problems during their time frame.
To them, if there is a good side to the world and a bad side to the world, then there must be two gods to keep track of it all. Gnostic believers even present “evidence” defending their position through information found in the secret books of the gnostic gospels (29). Though this argument seems sound, orthodox Christianity is the more popular belief on this subject because the Gnostics were considered ignorantly dualistic; God clearly sent his word through the Bible stating that he is the one and only God that ever was and ever will
These range from simple religious followings such as each individual needs to go into the community and attempt to spread the word of their teachings at least three days a week, men are not allowed facial hair, all the way to how to lead their lives and whom they can and cannot speak to. Christians have 10 main commandments (rules) that all sects or denominations follow. None of these prohibit any such thing like which people they can or cannot speak to, but instead the Christian religion encourages followers to speak to others no matter who they are or what their background is. Christianity encourages its followers to also go into the community and spread the word of God, but does not put a number of days a week you must do so in order to be a part of their faith or be
However the differences tell of two cultures very different relationships with god. In the case of the Hebrews and their god they are very close and open to him however he demands obedience. The Babylonians are distant and fearful of their god. Both deities demand obedience though, as do the cultures that identify with them. Despite society’s best efforts however, mankind will never truly be tamed.
Tozer emphasizes the power of worshiping God. He criticizes a large number of Christians for their substitutes for worship. The reason for man’s existence is to worship God for how loving he is. What man does in the day must be somehow focused toward worshiping God in order to fill the role in his creation. Humans lack true worship for a few reasons.
Christians across the world battle on the issue that memes does or doesn’t exists. Religious memes and me metric may not be inherently good or bad superior or inferior but they do exist. That no matter what are cultures are we can evolve while staying true to ourselves and are roots. So whatever category one’s culture labels it’s all a meme of a belief in someone or something being the teacher, philosopher that we should follow his word and know that other cultures beliefs may seem to imitate each other. That some disagree that they believe in what another culture or religion believes to be what they believe to be Jesus and what he stands for also.
