Being committed is the state of being bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action. Everybody will make a commitment in their life, whether it is good or bad. Pursuing a better relationship with God and furthering your education are some of the best commitments for your life. Education is the key to success. Without it, finding a good job is nearly impossible. Without a good job, most people are subject to fast food and minimum wage. I refuse to work hard and earn very little. College is my commitment in life, and so far it the best commitment I have made thus far. During this time college is now a requirement for just about all of your corporate jobs. People with only a high school degree are subject to get paid only minimum wage. With prices, especially gas, being so high and still rising make it impossible for a person with a minimum wage paycheck to come up in the economy. With a college degree, your salary will double or may even rise more than that. A degree will offer you some job security. During down time people with out a college degree will be more likely to lose their job. Having a college degree is very important.…show more content…
It is already hard for an African American to get a job, but when you do not have a degree it is even harder. There are very few African Americans in the corporate world and that is because very few African Americans finish high school and continue their education by going to college. More parents need to establish the idea of college in their children at a very young age, so that when they become young adults, college will not be an option. It will be a must.
