The laws as they stand today can punish our children as sex offenders for doing this. So are we going to punish our kids, and ruin their young lives, before their lives even begin? No! We have to have new laws to cover new territory, and sexting is new, coming with new technology. We have to act fast and get these laws in place so that our children will not ruin their lives becoming sex offenders.
Women and girls are trafficked internally for commercial sex. Children are subject to involuntary servitude as factory workers, domestic servants, beggars, agricultural workers and many times they are also sexually abused by their owners. No crime can be worse than this (Human Trafficking Statistics, 2010). What is human trafficking? Human trafficking is a form of modern day slavery and is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world (Human Trafficking into and within the united States: A Review of the Literature, 2013).
But there is a big difference between using physical punishment to discipline and physical abuse. The point of disciplining children is to teach them right from wrong, not to make them live in fear. However, it is impossible to know whether marital strife is a cause of child abuse, or if both the marital strife and the abuse are caused by tendencies in the abuser. Substance abuse can be a major contributing factor to child abuse. One U.S. study found that parents with documented substance abuse, most commonly alcohol, cocaine, and heroin, were much more likely to mistreat their children, and were also much more likely to reject court-ordered services and treatments (Besharov, 1990).
Sex trafficking is a much more serious crime than people think it is – a business of female empowerment that sell sexual services in exchange for money – when, however, it is an underground market of enslaved women forced into unwilling intercourse. Prostitution starts out at a fairly young age – ages 11-14 – where pimps use social media networks and blogs to befriend vulnerably young women. They’ll use seducing woos and flaunts to lure these girls in, comforting them with protection & care and buying them tangible desires. Seeing the point of view on sex trafficking from a prostitute as a victim – rather than a sex-worker – is one factor that change my view on sex trafficking. In the film, a turned-prostitute provides their life story as a former prostitute and how they were able to escape the slavery of sex trafficking.
It’s not like going to a rehabilitation program for drugs or alcohol. How can a rehabilitation program help a sex predator from re-offending? When a sex offender enters a rehabilitation program, the program tries to get to the root of the problem. They try to go into the offender mind and help them to remember if they were abused while they were children as well. At times abusers will block out their abuse they may have experienced as a child.
is also responsible for investigating and stopping human traffickers and is highly determined to end human trafficking in the U.S. Human Trafficking today is just like modern day slavery. Immigrants pay to be illegally transported into the U.S. in hopes to live a better life. Little do they know, they often are brought into human trafficking. When being trafficked, they are forced into prostitution or forced labor to pay off debts owed to who brought them into the U.S. Everything is based on money. The immigrants want to come into the U.S., but may not have enough money to pay the cost of being taken across the boarder.
Some sociologists argue that the modern family has become more child centred. This is mainly as a result of changes in law restricting child labour and excluding children from paid work. Pilcher said that the most important feature of the modern idea of childhood is separateness. This is emphasised for example through the way children are dressed, laws regulating what they can do or can´t do,
Research Paper Thesis and Outline Thesis: Although sex trafficking is a serious issue in United States, many parties are still ignorant and unaware of the consequences that it might bring to society.
