This is shown in the free use of hyperbto you ecstasy or rips your heart” The literary devices here, the hyperboles is used to exaggerate the effect of parking to later bring out the positive side of thought situations. One might argue that the reader shapes the text according to upbringing and gender, whether you relate to the antagonist or the wife. But wether one is from a big city or not, Mr. Beller's use of similes makes the text understandable and relatable to everyone. The text is written in a first person point of view, encouraging the reader to trust the author more. Arguably, the gender and upbringing of the reader brings the understanding of the text to vary. If one might be from a big city, this might be more relatable as if one is from a non-rural area or might not own a car, this scenario is not as relatable but the outcome is the same. The imagery of the dead corps flowing outside the car window, help the persuasive tone of the text. The author relating the car as a place for family gathering gives room for the reader to interpret the text for themselves, and replace the image of the car with another gathering of the family, in an unpleasant situation. Waiting for a doctor's appointment, walking your kids home from school or waiting in line for the metro.
