Briefly explain the five choices speakers can make. How do these elements determine a speech’s success or failure? Invention, arrangement, style, delivery, and memory are the five choices speakers can make. Invention is producing materials through analysis, research, and judgment. Arrangement is organizing materials for the main idea, the connections between the main idea and the body of the speech, and connecting the main idea and body to the conclusion. The style is how the speech is delivered to make it memorable. Delivery is presenting the speech in a message with the audience not to the audience. Memory using techniques to help the audience remember the speech after it is over. Making the right choices with these elements would determine if a speech is successful because each element gives the speaker the opportunity to adapt to the audience’s needs. 2. What role does the delivery method (e.g. online, video conferencing, face-to-face, conference room) play in constructing a presentation? Different problems arise when speaking for the camera. Even though you are addressing a very large audience, you are speaking only to a camera. Online and video conferencing are similar. Since you have to give a speech to listeners through the screen, it is hard to do the eye contacts and communicate with them well. However, face-to-face to is a bit easier. It can be one to one or on the many, but it is better to read listeners quickly. Conference room is one of the most common one for presentations. It is often used for students’ presentation in college and personally it’s the hardest one because I have to face with many listeners in the same room. 3. What is the difference
