I went from being a D average student to becoming a 3.0 student. I decided to actually try and to see what kind of grades I could get; it ended up being that I could get good grades, and it wasn’t even that difficult. I decided to try because of my parents, sports, and most importantly my future.

They are often goal oriented and think practically and analytically about achieving their goals. My mentor in high school was a transactional leader because he relied on small goals to achieve a larger goal. His role was to push me to my limits and slightly beyond, and he achieved this by forcing me to set short and long term goals for me individually and for the team as a whole. I had to write down goals so that he could monitor my progress as well as push me to never settle for mediocrity.

I was a target when I was young, both for my brothers and those who call themselves my friends. Secondly, we need to appreciate that everyone is important and valued for who they are. Erik Peterson definitely represented good leadership from every aspect of his work. At the very beginning though, he was faced with many problems existing in GMCT which had a negative impact on the company’s operations. He was trying his level best to solve these problems and to some extent, gain some outcomes which truly revealed Erik Peterson as an effective leader. Effective leaders are known to have high emotional intelligence and a prerequisite of the “threshold capabilities” of technical skills. When he found out that the chief engineer, Curt Andrews, lacked administrative skills which are a necessary component for managers starting up new operations, Erik Peterson made every effort to address this issue even to the point of replacing him with someone more capable in this position.

Third I asked myself what the persistence of the effort was. Again in the beginning it was low, but as the team began to accept one another that changed. Things have really been looking up for me in many different ways; I was offered a part time job at the school itself as a student-employee. Feelings My first week back at school has been arduous, but very good and cultivating. I was very eager to begin school and my new job and also to meet my classmates once more. It was somewhat disappointing for me when school did not reopen as scheduled. Sociology is an intriguing subject; learning how people interact in a group opposed to when they are by themselves really opened my eyes to the reality of daily living.
A team is a good team as long as everyone has the same mission in mind. They all want to benefit the team and try to do everything that they can in order to make the team successful. If there is no commitment in the team then the team cannot function properly. Everyone should be committed to the team in order for it to be successful. Commitment to the team is once you are on the team, even if you are sitting on the bench or injured, you made the decision once you commit to a certain team.
Listening is important because you give chance to other members to express their ideas. When I first started work with my team we had bad communication and our leader Charlie had took the responsibility and improved this by making us to share our ideas and give our opinions. Ground rules As a team you should also make rules so that you know what you can and what you can’t do. One of the rules should be to respect each other’s so that everyone is treated equal no matter who they are and also to consult before you make something because your members may not like it. I didn’t get why I had to know these things, but I did know how to memorize them to get by. It was not until I was in college for the first time that I found that having passion for what I was learning, in turn, gave meaning to all the subjects that I felt were so pointless when I was younger. Just memorizing the information was not enough, I had to actually care about what I was learning. It was not about just passing the class anymore, it was about applying what I had learned to my life, and my future career. I then understood I have to physically know it, and mentally understand it.
