Organizational Behavior Communication Organizational Behavior and Communication The organization I chose was the United States Army. The United States Army is the most diversified organization in the world. The Army is a mixture of races religions and gender. The Army has created its own language and culture. The Army philosophy is “One Team, One Fight. This means that Soldiers have the same training and the same goal, to defend the United States. Each Soldier displays enacted values by displaying discipline on and off duty. The Army believes that their Soldiers are the most discipline and highly trained Soldiers in the free world. Briefly describe the culture of the chosen organization, noting whether the organization’s espoused values align with its enacted values. The culture of the United States Army is a mixture of races, religious backgrounds, and genders for both the active duty and the reserve components. The culture includes civilians serving in throughout the United States and overseas locations. The Army teaches espoused value to the Soldiers daily. Soldier are taught how conduct themselves in a military manner even when no one is watching. The Army is a very structured environment that relies on discipline to maintain order. The Army has a strict chain of command that is highly enforced, from the lowest ranking private to the president of the United States. The Army seven values are enforced throughout the ranks: Integrity, honor, loyalty, duty, selfless service, respect, and personal courage. The result of not obeying these values could have harmful results. For example, the major stationed at Fort Hood Texas, who had the espoused belief about the war in Iraq.
