I would love to have the opportunity to graduate from nursing, because I have a strong desire to help people and make a difference in the quality of their lives every day. What is also noteworthy about nursing is that there is no another job as rewarding as being a nurse. Each day I will have an impact on patients´ lives, and have the opportunity to save someone´s life. I think there is no reward greater than that. Searching in different schools, I found that this program has a bunch of resources not only solid basics of nursing theory , but also nursing practice as well as clinical experience that will give me the opportunity of been successful in different practice situations.
It is essential for a nurse to be open, strong, determined, thoughtful and caring. These qualities would reflect on the nurse and would make caring for the patient easier. When I first gained my dream of being a nurse I was in the fifth grade. I would always hear older people say that nurses and doctors make the most money, and I always wanted to be wealthy and successful so I decided this is what I would do. I believe that I belong to this field because ever since I was a child I always wanted to make a positive influence in other’s lives.
She thought that was the best idea and would tell me all of the wonderful things nurses would do. Naturally I lo e helping people and as a child I knew that grandma also knew. We would play pretend and I was always the nurse and she was always my patient. So even from a very young age I have been told and encouraged to grow and do wonderful things with my life and if being a nurse is what I wanted then that’s what I could be. As I grew older I would always love to watch the Discovery Channel, watching Discovery Health and a show Called Birthday.
The School of Nursing (SON) vision and mission statements have left a lasting impression of where I want to be advancing my nursing career. Walden University SON (2012a) vision which states that it “will transform nursing with the continuum of care for human life and meet the needs of local and global communities” (para1) is why Walden University appealed to me. The vision of the program to continue my academic career will provide the necessary foundation to build upon my nursing career. Walden will allow me to achieve my ultimate goal and continue to work on my career and present employment. The information obtained through my advanced education can be incorporated
College education will provide a clear direction that will help motivate me to make better decisions in all aspects of my life. It will be an accomplishment that I can look back and say I was able to follow through and finish. Education will benefit me in having the ability to solve problems which will be an important skill to have throughout the rest of my life. My current course of study is in Computer Information Systems. I have always wanted to pursue a career in the computer technology field.
It would be a big accomplishment for me. I would like to further my education, work from home, and be financially stable. Education is something I was taught that was important. Without education you will never go very far in life. After I graduate I want to stay current in my field of medical billing and coding.
I am determined to obtain all of the experience and knowledge that it is required to get to where I want to be when I am older. Since I became a certified medical assistant, my eligibility has given me the opportunity to work with kids and some of the most amazing doctors I have met at a pediatrics office. People my age usually complain about having to work and not being able to have all the free time they used to, but I love what I do. As people say, if you love what you do you will never have to work a day in your life. I have great ambition to do what it takes to succeed in my life as a doctor because I have great passion for it and I do not see myself being anything else but a
Becoming a nurse will make each day a great difference, not only for me, but for the patients I will be taking care of. I know I can help others by providing them with love, care, and ensuring them I will never give up on them. Once I am able to progress in my major and earn my college degree in nursing, it will not only make me a better person, but enable me to reach out to others that are in great need of
Learning one’s strengths and weaknesses, and understanding goals are essential in meeting the demands of graduate school. Goal Setting It was a daunting task for me to arrive in my decision to pursue advance-nursing education beyond my busy career and family life. After careful analysis and consultations, I realized that the advantages I would get from completing Family Nurse Practitioner Program outweighed its disadvantages. I utilized Specific, Measurable, Action related, Realistic and Time based (S.M.A.R.T.) Objectives in setting my goals to ensure my success in my chosen “battle” (Pugsley, 2009).
All of these reasons are why I am interested in the growth and history of health care. The health care field offers so many opportunities for those who are interested in it. All it takes is some research to find what opportunity is right for you. I have always wanted to work in the health care field since the day I could remember. As a child I went from wanting to be a doctor to now wanting to become a nurse practitioner.
