Culture of Paintball Everytime I tell a new person that I play paintball competitively, they think that it's pitiful and just a waste of, time, money, and energy. But to millions of people, including myself, it is their life, community, and culture. When I see a person wearing an HK Army shirt (you probably have no idea what this is), I can just walk right up to them and hold a conversation with them as if I have known them my entire life because that’s how we are. We are friendly, competitive, sociable, and we are all family. Paintball is my culture.
It didn’t take long for my hand-eye coordination to develop and hitting a baseball thrown at me was no longer a problem. Our first game was here and I was the lead off hitter because I was small, fast and had no problem hitting the ball. Once again everyone was impressed with my abilities at such a young age. Threw out the season my skills continued to progress with the help of my team and my dad at home. As the regular season came to an end our team was the second seed out of 8 teams in the playoffs.
How might you help others feel like they are part of a team Team COM 516 02-28, 2013 June Fuller How might you help others feel like they are part of a team This topic really touches home with me because I coach football and baseball at the High School I work at. My job as a coach is not only to build winning teams, but also to make sure every team member has a role within the team. Coaching a sport allows me the opportunity to experience a wide range of personalities and talent levels. No one personality or talent level should be favored over the other. Even the players with the least amount of athletic ability can play a vital role in a team.
My thoughts as a catcher are to make my team proud and to only worry about the game. Each and every game has my full attention because I’m eager to get that win. If I, as a catcher, make an astounding play, I become a hero from my position. I see everything that happens on the field, this gave me a skillful advantage. If I was to only think of myself during the game we would not have a happy ending.
In 2008, he was the homerun champion; launching 28 balls out of the ball park. As of now he is playing in the Major League Baseball World Series. People told him his whole life he could not, but due to dedication he is one of the elite players of his league. The best athletes in the world have an incredible amount of dedication. It is not easy, but it definitely pays off in the end.
I know through years of personal experience that sports are so much more than a game. Sure, each game may not be a matter of life or death, but the impact sports has had on my life outside the field is undeniable and profound. To me, baseball is an escape, a place where the slate is wiped clean and success and failure is determined not by strength or size or popularity, but by skill and strategy. Sports taught me how to handle both success with pride and failure with optimism. Sports also gave me balance in my life.
How to Play Baseball If you live in the United States, it is probably a good idea that you understand America’s pastime. What is America’s pastime you ask? America’s pastime is the great game of baseball, promptly named after it’s prominence in 19th and 20th century American history, as well as today. The origin of organized baseball can be traced to the early 1840’s, but the first official league was made in 1876. Baseball has been my favorite sport since the age of 5, and even though I no longer play it is still one of my passions and hobbies.
These are known as slumps. Everyone thinks that slumps are a thing that happens unexpectedly. But really one of the most common used sayings in the game is, “a great hitter does not believe in slumps, he finds a way and gets back on track”. Slumps is a baseball term used when a player is not getting hits or pitching badly. Many players, baseball player unparticular can hold on to a lot of frustration.
Our grade are the people who strive when they struggle, our grade would get the home run. The fact that we are not stupid can be credited to our superb teachers and parents, who will never stop mentoring us even though some of us think we’ve outgrown them (and some of us, like Kai literally have outgrown them). Sure we have our faults, but I love that about all of you. No grade is ever perfect, but thanks to all of us, sometimes I think we’ve come pretty darn close to perfection, and sometimes I think we’ve come pretty close to
I found myself to be very successful in that area until my junior year; when I realized some of those friends could not be trusted. As high school progressed and the drama plied up, I had to remain focused. This may have been one of the biggest challenges for me. Additionally time became an issue when I began playing sports. Attempting to complete the heavy workload assigned by my teachers all the while trying to uphold my social life, it was evident as my lack of attention began to show in grades.
