I hope my educational and career goals also satisfy my personal goals of becoming a successful individual with strong morals and goals, hoping to work with people and work in the field that helped me. As a student, I am strong-willed and hard-working. I am proud of the grades I have earned and the things I have accomplished thus far, especially in a difficult major such as kinesiology. Yet, I struggle to think of how I will ever pay off the debt I will accrue in undergraduate and graduate school. Thanks greatly to the financial support of my parents, I have the opportunity to further my education and achieve my educational goals.
I have chosen Walden University due to the flexibility that will allow me to continue to work and ultimately achieve my goal. Walden is a one stop university that will allow me to complete my goal and stay at one place. My advanced education will allow me to understand the nursing process and advanced theory of nursing. I hope to ultimately own my own clinic and work there as a nurse practitioner until my retirement. It was a lengthy process of searching online and talking to multiple university advisors to locate which universities were rated top ten.
I would love to have the opportunity to graduate from nursing, because I have a strong desire to help people and make a difference in the quality of their lives every day. What is also noteworthy about nursing is that there is no another job as rewarding as being a nurse. Each day I will have an impact on patients´ lives, and have the opportunity to save someone´s life. I think there is no reward greater than that. Searching in different schools, I found that this program has a bunch of resources not only solid basics of nursing theory , but also nursing practice as well as clinical experience that will give me the opportunity of been successful in different practice situations.
I know that there is so much hard work I have to go through to get to that position though, but I’m already starting it. I have volunteered at the Staten Island University hospital for a year. I worked hard to get good grades into the Medical Program at school. Lucky for me those good grades paid off because I have been a certified medical assistant since I was 16. I am determined to obtain all of the experience and knowledge that it is required to get to where I want to be when I am older.
This specialty internship program will also assist with retention of nursing staff. Career development programs such as internships are an effective retention strategy. Purpose The purpose of this internship is to expose the student to the outpatient environments of hemodialysis. As most undergraduate nursing programs lack dialysis-specific clinical experience, nurses are in need of a strong educational program (Singer, 2006). As the number of patients on dialysis increases, so does the demand for hemodialysis nurses (Dunbar et al., 2012).
Keeping on top of any nursing advanced is a key benefit but there are many other: (N.A., 2012) 1) Networking 2) Educational opportunities 3) Access to mentors and mentoring 4) Forums on how to improve the nursing profession 5) Personal and professional growth 6) Unity Professional organizations allow nurses to speak in one loud voice. Speaking with one strong voice on behalf of our profession gives us the opportunity to be heard at the Legislatures level. We have a unique opportunity to lend our expertise in influencing policy at all levels of government. Being a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) ensures all 3.1 million nurses are represented across the board and that nurses interests are not being ignored by bureaucrats who lack true knowledge of the issues at the bedside. Being the #1 most trusted profession in the country allows nurses to truly take charge and make a difference in the policy arena.
Personal statement I have always been greatly fascinated by cardiology since my first exposure to an ECG as a first year nursing student. Since I graduated as a registered nurse, I have worked in acute general medicine, a nursing home and cardiac care settings. Comparing my experience in different work speciality, I learned that I enjoy most working in cardiology and CCU. My interest in cardiac nursing has been further stimulated as I have continued to learn more in this subject area through trainings, courses related to cardiac care and my day to day work experience in clinical setting. Since I became a registered nurse in UK, it was always in my agenda to continue further studies and gain higher qualifications.
FDU also provides students with the opportunity to achieve hands on experience through internship programs, which will enhance my developmental skills and prepare me professionally. College has always been a frontier in not only ensuring academically distinct and intellectual students, but also providing said students with a lot of social communities
Coincidentally, after evaluating my own thoughts and opinions about the elderly, I remember once coming to the same conclusions. Approximately 11 years ago, after graduating from nursing school, I had my mind set on pursuing a career in emergency medicine. I desired a career that was exciting and dynamic, so as to keep myself enthused and always learning something new. What I have come to find in my nursing career is that from day-to-day, at least from the perspective of an emergency room nurse, I see much of the same thing. I see patient complaints and outcomes repeated daily.
I have made many friends including Cadet/Private Sommermeyer and Cadet/Private Tatum. These many friends extend beyond the JROTC classroom and will no doubt be there when I most need them to be. Another thing ROTC is good for is community service hours. My counselor has already given me a community service worksheet to fill out whenever I do something and she says it will help me get into a much better college and will also look good on my Job/college application. JROTC also inspires me to work hard in school and out of school.
