Many women around the world have abortions. There are eight ways to induce abortion. Abortion is a very controversial issue in the world today. There have been debates and rallies that were either for or against abortion. Abortion is never an easy decision, but woman have been making that choice for thousands of years, for many good reasons. Many people say that abortion is considered murder because you’re killing a human being but is it really a human being?
Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy. Abortion laws are very controversial. Those who describe themselves as “pro-choice” believe that the decision to have an abortion is up to the mother. The “pro-life” campaign believes that abortion is equivalent to murder. Feminists and Liberals support the “pro-choice” and Roman Catholics and Protestants support “pro-life” side. Kristin Luker said that “right –to-life” movement was in the nineteenth century Luker (page 1). Abortion laws began to appear in the 1820’s forbidding abortion after the fourth month of pregnancy. There are 42 million abortions a year and 115,000 abortions a day worldwide. In the United States there are 1.37 million abortions a year and 3,700 abortions a day. 52% of women that obtain abortions are younger than 25. It has been said that black women are more than 3 times as likely as white woman to have an abortion. They have the choice of whether to have an abortion or just put the child up for adoption.
