CMGT/410 Week 1 - DQ1 Supporting Activity: Integrative Project Management Process Write a 200- to 300-word short-answer response to the following: * What is meant by an integrative project management process and why is this so important? What are the pitfalls if such an approach is not taken? 1 Project integration management, is the incorporation of all the aspects of a project into a single project plan to help make the project a success. This process includes multiple levels of organization that helps to prepare and execute the project to reach the final goal. Adhering to this process is crucial at it is a means to make the project as efficient and effective as possible. According to the text book there are 6 steps to project integration management. The 6 steps are: * Develop project charter * Develop project managements plan * Direct and manage project execution * Monitor and control project work * Perform integrated change control * Close project or phase Each and every step of this process is essential in reaching success in your project. Developing the different plans helps prepare for the overall project. Monitoring and controlling project work is essential to make sure that the project is at maximum efficiency. Performing integrated change controls ensures the longevity of the project. The combination of all these steps makes the integration of a new project much easier and efficient. By following these steps, you are ensuring a higher success rate and reduce the chances of project failure. 2 Project management process defines, manage and execute work to achieve a set objective.
