From my opinion this movie over a whole was great. Real reactions to real situation’s. It kept me interested with the kid’s witty banter towards their dance class as well as everything around them. To some people dance is just a hobby but to some of these kids it’s their dream to become a famous dancer, they would prefer this for their career when they grow up. Honestly my favorite part of the documentary would be when
For those of us that seek adventure, TV shows offer programs that vary from actors to themes to genres and have one of two purposes: to entertain or to inform. While informative shows are regularly watched, most of television viewers prefer entertaining shows. Comedies are the most familiar TV shows watched and
Twenge states, “To many older people, it’s funny. But too many younger people the main consumers of the reality shows on, say, MTV it shapes their views of the world” (pg 7). Narcissism is shown often, and without hesitation on reality TV younger viewers are being conditioned by the depiction of narcissism. Slowly, the excess amount of narcissism seems normal. For instance, on “America’s Next Top Model” young viewers wish to be thin, tall, and overall a model, but go about it in the wrong ways.
In order for a sitcom to be great, it should be re-watchable. Seinfeld has a number of inside jokes including catch phrases and character flaws which are repeated throughout the episodes. The inside jokes are generally only picked up by dedicated viewers who realise that they’re funny, hence they are necessary in re-watchability. Another factor in a great sitcom is chemistry among the characters. The characters of Seinfeld have such great chemistry that we love to watch them, and feel like a part of it.
The younger generation think that is what they should do since that is what they see on TV and the internet. Divinecaroline.com state “Reality shows have become very popular and teens have begun to realize that you can become famous just by being a bad girl, teen mom, or a crazy party animal who likes to do nothing but drink and “smush,” like the cast members on Jersey Shore.” Shows like this are giving teens the wrong idea. Why should the cast be paid so much for setting a bad example? This country is supposed to be looked up to as a great clean country. With shows like this on air for the world to see it is a disgrace.
Kyle Frederick Dr. Hall, 10:30 12/6/13 Bland Meals for Bland People Don't you just hate biting into food and realizing how awful it actually is? That's what LSMSA students have to experience every day. Not only does the food taste as terrible as a bag of rocks, but most of the fruits and vegetables are littered with brown spots of rot. Also, there isn't as many choices of food for all of the meals, either. One sausage and one hash brown for breakfast just doesn't cut it.
Visual entertainment has shaped American culture and its value, it has changed the way we communicate with each other. Since 1950’s there have been televisions in homes, people were able to watch their favorite shows, and catch up on the world through the news. Soon after that cell phone came into place. People no longer see the value in communicating with each other face to face. Some would rather create a virtual living life and would “live there”.
The media not only distracts society from reality, but also provides temporary pleasure; for example, television instantly fulfills the wish for relaxation. If people have the self-control to sample television in small doses, it can be relaxing without being harmful. However, when television is integrated into the daily routine and becomes "necessary," people rely on it for artificial happiness. Depending on entertainment for pleasure is detrimental to health and mind. For some people, entertainment yields greater joys than physical activity does.
Media is the backbone of American society today. People thrive on the drama of knowing what celebrity did what with who, or what stocks crashed this week, or even what the next act of congress might be. Every individual will have their own opinion on how important all of these topics are, but the fact still remains that without media, the large majority of people in today’s American society would be lost. One of the most common forms of media that is accessible by every American today is television. Television allows people to know what’s going on in the world, it gives people endless hours of entertainment, and it even has a certain value in advancing people’s knowledge on certain topics.
More than that, however, even one who does not watch European cinema frequently will inevitably appreciate and even admire the surprising moral presented at the end of the film, which allows one to see that the different scenes within the film, when taken as a whole, do make sense. Indeed, Babette’s Feast does not fail to linger in a viewer’s mind long after it has ended, making the viewer go back to certain scenes and linking it with other scenes in the film. That is something that most American movies fail to do. American movies fail to linger in one’s mind because, in essence, there is not much to think about them anyway. Once it is done, it is on to the next one, which is fine because the predictability that these movies innately possess may make them exciting for the moment but ultimately
