Brian Lucas Mr. Harris English 4 P.3 21 May 2012 Brave New World The world is an always-changing place where technology rules everything and everyone. We already see teens on their phones all the time and now younger kids are learning how to use phones before they can speak. In Brave New World Huxley describes this world of extreme technology. Their world is quite similar to ours we live in today. This world has an extreme class system, technology, and promiscuity. The class system in Brave New World is extremely strict. The Alphas, or the richer class, are not allowed to even interact with the lower classes. Our society is not quite this strict but to an extent we are like this. For example, a rich person would not usually talk to a dirty homeless person. In the countries the class system is more like Brave New World, where they do not speak to one another. In Brave New World they use technology to produce everything, even humans themselves. They do this to ensure that the working class stays working and the upper class stays rich. Huxley explains that it makes for a better society. They have made everyone loving who they are and not being jealous of anyone else. This…show more content…
They are also encouraged to be very promiscuous. This is supposed to be a better society because there is no such thing as jealousy and everyone gets along. The people are taught to have multiple sexual partners and that the concept of a family and childbirth are considered profanity. The people are independent from the day they are born. Our society, I believe, is heading in this direction. In my lifetime it is not uncommon to have multiple sexual partners. Now teens are having sex and getting pregnant at fifteen and sixteen years old. Some kids are moving out of their parent’s house at eighteen years old or right when they graduate high
