Motorcycle boy is the one who got James’s back when James in trouble, he helps him out and he is the only one beside with James. The author wants to tell us, never give up on yourself and never fear of your fate; on the world there is someone that can make your life more positive and stronger. Rusty James can desire his own life without the Motorcycle Boy’s help right now, he moved to a town near the beach to live, quitting gang life and using drug. Finally he can live in his new own life without fear of being alone. For me as a reader that I have read the story, I want to be a doctor to help out other people that I love, I promise to myself that I never use drugs and be in gang life.
One Big Soul Prompt: Support the idea that a major theme in this novel is that all men are part of the family of man. In the novel, The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck shows theme through the hardships of the Okies. Even through the hardships they faced on the journey to California, the Joad Family helped give rides and food to other poor migrants. The Joads were also helped buy others also in misfortune. Even though most Okies were low on money and didn’t have space in their cars, they let others in need join them.
Paul did not have to share his food. He knew everyone at war were starving and wanted to help which is why his did it. This shows brotherhood because he is looking out for his friends that he became close with. When Lewandowski’s wife visits him in the hospital, Lewandowski wants one thing from his wife, knowing his child, and nurses are around the hospital, his friends help. They all worked together and helped Lewandowski’s need.
Ethical Aspects in The Road Compared with Today's Society In the novel, The Road, by Cormac McCarthy, McCarthy writes about a father and son who try to survive after a tragic catastrophe. Although McCarthy never reveals the father or son's name, he brings them to life by vividly describing their actions. This description gives the reader the ability to relate to their actions and helps portray the father and son's relationship. Throughout the novel, the father and son build a strong relationship which is built around love, fear, and determination. McCarthy also uses the setting to help demonstrate the father and son's hopeless situation.
Then finally, the Youngers realize the value of pride. People can learn important lessons about life in a variety of ways, not only just by having it taught to them. Throughout The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck and Jim form a bonded relationship like no other. They defy all social “laws” with no remorse or feelings of guilt and they begin to fill the missing piece of the father- son relationship that Huck has lacked his whole childhood. They rely on one another for almost everything. Jim needs Huck so that his secret of running away is not revealed and Huck relies on Jim to subconsciously keep him safe from all the evils he is running away from in his everyday life. Huck also needs Jim to act as the missing father-figure to guide him along their journeys.
This shows that Troy has that same mind set like his father that working is just a way of living and playing sports is not promising. There are many things that can happen to destroy your sports career like a torn ligament. Without Cory having anything to fall back on how would his life play out? In “The Grandfather,” Gary Soto acknowledges and honors the hardships and accomplishments of his grandfather, who died deep in the harvest of his fruits and dedication to keep his family together. Just like Soto’s grandfather, my grandmother too, struggled to overcome many hardships while also keeping her family well united and strong. The life we are living today was not easily given.
Steven Herrick’s free verse novel “By the River” displays the struggles of grief and loss that the characters endure as well as some effective coping mechanism they utilise. Various characters such as the protagonist, Harry and his father display the issues of grief and loss and clearly demonstrate ways in which they cope with it. Harry and his father cope through the death of their mother and wife in different ways. The protagonist has to deal with the loss of his close friend, Linda which turns out to be a great struggle but he manages to survive it.
