A Comparative Study on Christianity vs Jehovah’s Witnesses Christianity The most popular religion in the world is Christianity, which is centered on God and Jesus Christ. Christianity has about 2.1 billion followers worldwide. The Bible is the Word of God, It is God (St. John 1:1-2) . Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah that was promised in the Old Testament. They believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that God sent His only Son (Jesus) to earth to save humankind from the penalty of their sins. One of the most important concepts in Christianity is that Jesus gave His life on the cross which was called the crucifixion, and then He was buried, and on the third day He rose from the dead which is called the resurrection. This is summarized in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 which is the foundation of Christian belief. Exclusive among all the faiths, Christianity is more about having a relationship with God than religions practices. The goal of a Christian is to develop a close relationship with God through (Word of God) the ministry of Jesus Christ and by the aid of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the anointed one from God the Father who came to this world, to fulfill the Old Testament laws and prophecies. Jesus performed miracles which are recorded in the Gospels by the eyewitnesses. Christianity teaches that there is one God, one faith and one baptism; it teaches that God made the universe, the earth and He created Adam and Eve and that God created man in His image, that mean God’s character. That means every person is made in God’s image and likeness. Since every person is made in God’s image and likeness we are worthy of respect and honor. God created Adam and Eve and put them in the Garden of Eden and gave them the ability to choose between right and wrong. They choose wrong, that means they sinned disobeyed God. Christianity
