Having a plan of action shows the board members that every aspect has been considered. Once Sally Martin was hired as executive project manager, she evaluated the progress that had been made and realized that because the initial analysis had been rushed, several key components to the success of the project had been missed. She did a wonderful job in creating a way to fix the problems but her superior was not pleased with her findings and considered it bad news. Lack of candor is present here because as a result of the negative feedback from her boss, Ms. Martin decided to never relay bad news again no matter what. Good communication would be the key to overcoming this situation.

One of the most effective processes in leadership is the ability to build trust. Because there was no trust many members of the team began to question the plan altogether. Because there was no confidence in her and her plan the members of the team questioned her intentions, decisions and her competence. This was because all the decisions she made had an impact on the team which caused us to be hesitant to her direction and no effort was really put into her plan. Because she was never able to gain any type of trust from the team we implemented the new plan in a way that was very forceful.
When George, Sam, and Rameck were in University High, they didn’t have teachers that were motivated. “We had a few dedicated teachers at the high school who pushed us to learn and forced us to do our work, but too many others just didn’t know how to reach us and didn’t seem to care” (59). The teachers don’t have the desire to help students or care, therefore, Sam, Rameck, and George's grades drop. This proved how important of a role teachers play on a student's academic life. If the teachers didn’t care about their education, how would you expect students to stay in school when the teachers don’t care whether they attend or not.
After that, my mother who was always so harsh about education and coming on top changed her point of view. Instead of saying "Study, try harder." She started saying "What am I going to do with the certificates if you are gone?" This started to make me lazy. I was really attracted to this easy life and didn't think about future much.
Though this organization was successful, they were not successful enough to be in the stuck state they were in. The growth of the Levon Corporation should have been the primary focus of everyone in the company especially the management team. Even though bringing the project management consultant in to outline to the management team the importance of project management functionality was stubbornly agreed upon it proved to be the first and most important step in the company’s change process. The employees will feel their opinions are suggestions are valued as a result of the management team taking the time to hear out the consultant. The apprehension of the management team is understood because that is the culture; however, once the functionality is implemented and the management team sees the growth and positive change, the company will be more adapt to change.
Second, unclear directions can also stunt a projects turnout (Northouse, 2012). Employees who don’t understand steps to accomplish their task will not achieve correct results (Northouse, 2012).
