E1 & E2 A statutory sector is a service that must be provided by law. Statutory services are provided by the government to support children and their families such as school and nurseries. Primary schools are statutory services that are put in your community by the local education authorities which support children and their families by allowing the children to have beneficial education. This service is open to children aged 7 to 11 years providing education from 9am till 3pm also providing them food at lunch time. Primary schools support children by allowing them to have beneficial education in a happy, caring and supportive environment which also allows family to get involved by having open evenings where parents/ gradients are welcomed into the school to talk about the children’s work etc. Parents evening is an event that supports children and their families as the child’s family and teacher can communicate and talk about the child’s progress and achievements also allowing the parent and teacher to engage. Voluntary sectors are organisations such as the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) where money is fund raised to donate to children. The NSPCC is an organisation that protects children and helps children who have experienced or are a risk of abuse. The National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children work with children who have experienced all kinds of abuse such as physical, sexual, neglect and with children from minority ethnic communities. The NSPCC is a multi-agency team as they work with other organisations to ensure they are effectively protecting children and to improve those who are not. The NSPCC provides children with a confidential helpline and online service that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
