Child Victimization in the US | | | | Abstract The topic I had to research for this paper was child victims. My thesis statement for the paper was, “Some examples of the ways children becomes victims includes child trafficking, abduction and kidnapping, and homicide.” Kids all over are becoming victims because of being mistreated, abuse, assaulted, and many other reasons. These children are not even protecting in their own home of with some of their own family members. The key people I research for this paper were small children under the age of five and older children such as teenagers. The conclusion is the statistics of the child victimization records is rising up each and every day, and more children are being victimized. This has got to stop. Crime victimization is defined as treating a child unfairly or cruelly. Children all around the world are being victimized each and every day. Crimes against kids include abuse, homicide, neglect, and a lot of the children have experienced a form of physical assault in their lifetime. Some are taken away from their parents and some are simply disappearing. When these children are found, most are suffered but physical and mental abuse. Some examples of the ways children becomes victims includes child trafficking, abduction and kidnapping, and homicide. One form of child victimization is human trafficking. “Sex Trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person forced to perform such an act is under the age of 18 years.” Child trafficking is defined as a form of slavery that exploits children for monetary gain.
