For this assignment I am required to work with a child or group of children over a period of 6 weeks and produce an integrated child observational study demonstrating colleague and parental involvement. I will observe the children over 6 weeks and carry out 5 observations. I will then plan and implement an intervention per observation designed to promote an aspect of their holistic development. I will research and refer to theoretical perspectives in the field of child development. METHOD OF PROCEDURE. This research study was conducted using primary and secondary research methods. The primary research method used was a six week observation study. In order to complete this process a variety of observation methods were used. These methods include a snapshot observation, two checklist observations, a narrative observation and a time sample observation. The secondary research methods used were books, journals, the internet, online government publications, class notes, PowerPoints and policies and procedures in my workplace.
