It is known that the level of education of a certain group of people, for example, people in a country, region or continent, affects their success in achieving sustainable development. An increased level of education by people, in most cases, leads to increased levels of development over time. However, it is important to note that, in order for people to attain a high level of education, they must start learning at very early ages (Burton, 2008). Individuals, who start receiving education at early ages, build a good foundation for themselves in terms of having a better understanding of what they learn. An analysis can, therefore, be carried out to determine how early childhood education impacts a populations success in attaining high levels of education that will be applied in making efforts towards achieving continued sustainable development. This essay will aim at answering the question, does early childhood education help to foster sustainable development.
The reason behind the need to examine whether early childhood affects sustainable development of a country or a region is because it has been noted that there has been a correlation between the development in different countries and their levels of development. For example, in western countries, children usually start being educated at a very young age of about 3 years. Most of the children living in western countries, who start receiving their education early, have exhibited high levels of understanding and performance in the various fields of education they have specialized in.
