Diana Scutt English 090- College Writing Skills Dr. Schillig 29 November 2011 Argument Essay Mean Girls Bullying is an epidemic that our schools face; everyone has been bullied in some type of form at one point in their lives. Personally I feel as if females get it the worst. Females are bullied with words; while boys are bullied with fists. The media portrays these models as thin, beautiful girls; this ultimately makes other girls who aren’t as thin feel as if they aren’t pretty. They’re cases where females are bullied to the point where they resort to drugs and alcohol to make the pain go away, drop out of school because they can’t face their tormentors, causing some type of physical harm to their bodies, and or even resort to taking their own lives.
Now, more and more children don’t like to listen to the other people. When someone is talking to them, they won’t care what he/she is talking about, and they will continuous to play their game. In many parents’ eyes, they will think their child still younger and like to play. Actually, if parents don’t correct their children’s attitude for listening, that will make their children don’t know how to listen to the other people anymore. Learning to how to listen is a core; it should be a part of children’s education.
Having worries, her parents take her to a therapist. But he is soon fired when he proposes that she should be put on medication. Her mom notices Phoebe’s self-destructive behavior at home, and her constantly getting into trouble at school, but she refuses to accept that there’s anything wrong with her daughter. Other than the trouble with Phoebe, her parents are also dealing with their own relationship problems. Her young sister feels jealous and left out when she watches Phoebe get all the attention from both parents.
She knew that her children will soon leave and have their time in life and spend less and less time with her and that she would just simply stay inside and be alone. She must have been terrified of that. She lost Edward and did not want her daughter Mary to find about that at the moment of her lifetime. Jane was terrified of telling Mary the truth and she might have thought that if she does than Mary will panic and be emotionally hurt for the rest of her life. At the end, Jane seems to be happy that she will soon be able to be to join Edward.
Also, if the child does not perform at his/her best, it greatly reduces the self-esteem not only of the child but the parents as well. The child and parents will receive continuous negative comments and feel pushed away. A child with ADHD’s most difficult environment is in a classroom being told to sit still, do not move, do not talk, and to pay attention to worksheets and finish them. None of these things come easily to parents whose child has ADHD, but day by day, off to school the children
Failing a course is a major set back for some people. When students have the opportunity to retake a course most do not because they feel like it is a waste of time, or they just get lazy and do not want to do it at all. Also, failing a course can also be embarrassing to some people which leads them to give up and not worry about the course. Personal problems that occur within the household can also be a major factor on why teens drop out of high school. Some personal problems that can cause drop outs are pregnancies, marriage, and ect.

People who have been diagnosed with bipolar often have to virtually live in silence about their illness. They are afraid to talk to other people about their mental illness because they may be avoided or even worse become the subject of discrimination. Bipolar is a treatable and manageable mental illness but due to the stigma attached to it by society and those who do not understand it, the psychological well being and life satisfaction of those diagnosed with it are jeopardized. Bipolar can be treated and managed in effective ways.

Taylor’s mother gave permission for her daughter’s punishment, but she did not know it would be the schools male vice- principal administering it. They provide education to our youth to prevent them from ever starting and smoking cessation programs for individuals that currently wish to stop smoking. Education and support are known ways to eventually prevent smoking in the future. More than 400,000 deaths in the U.S. alone each year are from smoking related illnesses. Why would someone even pick up a cigarette without considering the effects it will have on him or her? Cigarettes should be illegal because cigarettes are a powerful and addicting drug that are very harmful to the people who smoke them, the people who inhale second hand smoke, and the environment.
