Every three seconds in the U.S. a child is abused , every twenty minutes one dies. “ When a child is abused psychologically, he is taught a false view of reality. They learn to see the world as a place where the significant people in their life are dominated by the negative feelings and self- destructive patterns of behavior.”(Landau 22). Then there is neglect defined as leaving a child alone for a long period of time, on not providing food or clean clothing, even not taking a child to school. Last there is physical abuse that is a non- accidental trauma or physical injury. An example is Munchausen’s by Proxy Syndrome, this is one of the worse child abuse cases, it is when the care giver deliberately makes or convinces a child to be sick.(Prevention).
