“The actualising tendency refers to the tendency in all forms of organic life towards more complex organisation, the fulfilment of potential, and in human beings, the actualisation of the whole person including the persons self” (Merry 2002). Through my own experience I believe there is a need for positive self regard in order for an individual to make positive choices and trust in their own decisions.”To develop a sense of trust in the accuracy and reliability of our own inner experiencing” (Merry 2002). Again through personal experiences I understand the effect of the conditions of worth have on individuals. I believe that these affect us later in life and can be explored
Elizabeth has the team meet and they discuss an overall agenda, but never discuss a concrete plan on how to achieve their goals. By the end of the meeting the only real goal is that Warren will make a preliminary marketing plan, but there is no mention of other employees doing anything else. When Ethel expresses concerns, Andrew is not concerned with how to achieve the goals; just that he is more concerned with making something fun. Issue 5: No Market Study. Warren states to Nick “we don’t want to overestimate our customers on this”.
The Brave New Neverland Growing up means learning from getting hurt, taking on responsibility, and losing childhood innocence. In Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, the people of the World State never seem to grow up and lose their childhood innocence. They work as adults but outside of work they are permitted to act like children with no responsibilities and drugs that take care of any unpleasant emotions. They are sheltered with no understanding of how to deal with things and are trained to not grow up mentally. In the World State no one really grows up because the World State wants everyone to be happy and not experience pain which means no one loses their innocence.
Because the parents do not actually raise their children, the children are attached to the machines that are raising them. The machines never teach the children to love or to have respect; therefore, the children lack those characteristics. Metaphors carryout Bradbury’s theme with much needed emphasis as the story is told from the passerby’s point of
We know that his family is in his life from birth, to where he is now. Even though the family doesn’t partake in Holden’s journey through the whole book, his sister Phoebe, and brother Allie always end up tying in with a stage of Holden’s growth. When Holden explains that his broth Allie died, this showed the reader that Holden has to possess a sense of maturity that kids alike wouldn’t understand. Losing a loved one alters people in different ways. It is inevitable that if you lose someone close to you that you will be affected.
I would also like to build a good reputation so that I would be wanted and become more of an expert. I do have a strong desire to succeed and to be available and dependable. I would like to make sure that I
Unit 301 Understand how to plan and prioritise work and be accountable to others Outcome 1 1.1 The purpose of planning work and being accountable to others for own work, is so that there is a clear plan over a period of time to which the work needs to be submitted, Planning allows for a contingency should anything happen that may effect work output. Being accountable to others, gives a sense of importance to the work, improving on productivity, a benefit of being accountable is that others get to see your work output, and potentially over additional work as a result. 1.2 The purpose and benefit of negotiating realistic targets are to encourage the staff, unrealistic targets have a negative effect on staff wellbeing and in turn work output which is of detriment to the organisation. As an example we operate on a SMART objective meaning targets should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound, when targets are set correctly you will be able to monitor progress and review accordingly. 1.3 It is important to prioritise targets and set realistic timescales to avoid disappointment and poor work performance.
Goals give direction, energize and challenge people to complete a task and promote creative ways of getting the job done. The Scanlon plan is the right idea for motivating employees; it just needs to be modified to increase

A good leader must possess a combination of many varying qualities. But foremost, one must have the desire and initiative to want to make changes and to make things happen, it is necessary to be able to accurately assess a given situation and have the foresight of what could or should be done. The ability to communicate this vision is vital. In order to be most effective, one needs to be credible and knowledgeable, with a strong belief in one’s own ideas and self, while at the same time, listening to others input and taking their ideas into consideration. Perseverance and adaptability are imperative traits to have and necessary to overcome obstacles that are inevitable.
