For three weeks they had to keep street lights during the day. Inhabitants of Oklahoma had to wear dust masks, the temperature stayed on 42,2°C. Because of this devilish combination many farmers were ruined, especially small farmers. The Dust Bowl meant the beginning of migration. 60% of population left this area, in Texas the population dropped from 40000 to 1000 people.
Scientist haven’t been able to get many samples of stars as touching them results in an unsatisfactory burning sensation, followed by death. As all the gas is compressed, stars spend millions of years producing vast amounts of heat and light until their untimely deaths, although they aren’t exactly untimely, you can judge how long a star will live based on size and the colour which gives away how powerful the nuclear reaction actually is. Their deaths come about when there isn’t enough gravity or one of the gases required runs out. Then a star has to start using helium for its fusion, this means that there is far more pressure and heat because it is less reactive than hydrogen. However if it doesn’t have enough gas to create helium fusion it creates a red dwarf/red giant.
Any wooden structures within six miles of the hypocenter, or ground zero, toppled to the ground trapping the occupants inside. Those lucky few who could use the little bit of energy they had left trying to find water. Many people died from drowning for they were flushed or fell into the water source they sought and had no energy left. A few hours later, a strange rain fell from the sky. The drops were the size of golf balls and were as black as ash.
A meteor struck the moon and moved it closer into orbit changing centrifugal forces and causing worldwide tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and that’s just the start. Without a care in the world is how Miranda’s life was at the beginning. A normal lifestyle is what she lived. She lost her best friend when Becky passed away. That was the cause of Miranda, Sammi, and Megan to grow apart, and their strong friendship would never be the same.
Most of the buildings were flattened due to the materials they were made of and how they were built (without foundations or to be able to move with the shock waves). The two worst areas effected Balakot, Pakistan: The small tribal city was just a few miles from the epicentre of the earthquake. The result was the place was flattened, and caused the only two deaths in Pakistan. The Pakistani government has since rebuilt the city 20 miles north of the old site, with quake proof buildings Uri, India: 1500 people died in this town alone Effects (short and long term) |Short term |Long term |
For example on November 6th 2010 the house of the Gladiators collapsed due to general deterioration and also heavy rainfall – see source B. The last reason that caused Rome to fall was the rulers. According to Document A, there were twenty-two rulers just during a fifty-year period, from 235 CE to 285 CE. Because there was a frequent change in rulers, the empire was instable, which was violent to the leadership. The empire could easily be conquered. Also, on the Background Essay, it said that the rulers became too worldly and lazy.
He discredits the argument that, ”marriage is fundamentally a procreative unit” (Stoddard 738). The government tries to rectify not allowing same sex marriage to be legal because marriage is supposed to be a procreative unit. People should be entitled to love and marry whomever it is that they choose. The government tries to justify their standing on gay marriage by acknowledging the fact that same sex couples would not be able to birth a child together. If this is in fact a valuable reason to prevent someone from marrying, then why doesn’t the government create a law banning all women and men who cannot or will not have children from being able to legally marry.
3). 9. Departed glory (1 Sam. 3:4-22). In this hopelessness of life without God, with the ark taken by the Philistines, Eli the very fat priest fell back broke his neck and died.
Finally, Coontz brought forth if someone is not marrying for love but just for the status then what is the point of getting married. I do agree with her about this and also, the point about the media blowing the idea of happily ever after out of proportion by just believing that only true love will hold a marriage together that is false. True love can bring people together but would not keep them together, this is something that marriages cannot solely rely on it takes hard work and dedication to keep a marriage
