Schools are one of the most important institutions in our society. Using advanced technology in schools will help student to gain better understanding. Technologies like computer and smart board have proven to accelerate students’ progress and raise their efficiency in classroom. However, there are some types of technology that could harm the educational process more than benefit it, such as cell phones. Cell phones are the modern devices that we do not need in our schools. Cell phones in schools could cause distraction among students and threaten their privacy. In the elementary school, students are too young and they easily distracted. Basically, these students have short attention span, and allowing cell phones in school could affect their concentration. Schools’ role is to provide a comfortable peaceful environment that helps students to stay focused and productive. Therefore, cell phones should be banned from school to maintain the healthy educational atmosphere. Although middle and high school’s students are older and more mature than elementary school’s students, cell phones could still hurt their achievements. They are young adults who are very fond of new technology. Some people say that cell phones could be used as an educational tool, but reality said, student’s use cell phones in class room to text, surf the internet, or use the social media. Cell phones in schools will suck in the students’ attention in all ages. That is why allowing cell phones in school generally could affect the education progress badly. For example, any class in elementary or high school would be disturbed by a cell phones’ ring. With having 20-30 cell phones in one class room, chances are big that one or more of them would ring and interrupt the teacher as well as the students.
