1. Squat - The benefits of a squat are that is uses all the major muscles in the lower leg, thighs and hips and when performed correctly uses numerous muscles in the upper body to help protect the spine when load is rested on the supper back and/or shoulders. As it uses lots of muscle it is great as a calorie burner to help weight loss and toning, and when progressively heavier loads and greater training volumes are used it is possibly the best exercise for building strength and size in the lower body muscles. - Squats replicate a primary movement pattern that most people use variations of everyday whether its getting in and out of a chair, using the toilet, or picking items off the ground. There is a version of squats available to suit every client – whether its supported bodyweight squats for the beginner or
A simple machine is a device that makes a tough job easier by allowing a person that is applying force to apply less force. Also makes the force applied in a direction manipulated. There are six types of machines- lever, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, wedge and a screw. The three machines in a trebuchet is a lever, inclined plane and a wedge. A lever is a rigid bar that rest on a pivot that is a used to help move heavy things or firmly fixed load with one end when pressure is applied to the other end.
KIN 335 - BIOMECHANICS LAB: Measurements of Vertical Jumping Performance Introduction: In a maximal effort vertical jump performance, the goal of the task is simply to jump and reach as high as possible. In many sports, the height to which an athlete can jump and reach is often of critical importance. In the absence of air resistance and other external forces, the upward projection of the whole body center of mass (CM) is completely determined by the vertical velocity at the instant of takeoff and the acceleration due to gravity. However, this quantity does not completely describe the overall jump and reach height that is observed. Purpose: The purpose of this laboratory is to measure and compare vertical jumping performance using three different methods.
Children develop at different rates, but they all follow the same sequance. Development is often referred to on a timeline and is broken down in ages. As development is more rapid in early years the milestones start by being quite close together before becoming further apart as baby becomes a child and then a young adult. The aspects of development that children are measured on are physical, language, social and emotional, and intellect. Physical Development: Within physical development there are lots of different areas: -Gross motor skills - are the large movement of your body ( arms and legs) e.g: walking, running, throwing, punching, hopping.
"We had a guy come to my house for a couple of lessons with the bullwhip in the beginning, I think it was three or four lessons. Then it was up to me to practice with it and get it right. If anybody could explain it in words, I'm sure it would be a lot easier to do. It's a combination of relaxation while snapping the wrist at the proper time. It's really all a matter of timing.
However, with motion you must know about levers. The framework of the body is covered in muscle which permits movement. When moving or lifting a heavy load, it’s easier to use levers, and in the body it’s the exact same. All levers use 5 different parts; Lever, Fulcrum, Muscle force, Resistive force and Torque. Lever; almost always the bone Fulcrum; the pivot point of the lever in which is usually the joint.
Visual repetition and writing my notes help me to memorize information. I cannot draw the signs. Another barrier is that there is no one to practice with. I wish I had taken the class when my friend was still with me. Last, but not least is the lack of translation tools on the web or in our text.

Every child is different and some children can go from shuffling to walking attempts, missing a big milestone such as crawling. Between a child’s first and second birthday, they will become much more mobile and from their first attempts at walking, they will become more confident with walking, running, climbing and throwing. By three years old a child will have learnt most methods of movement. They will be able to walk backwards, sideways and on tiptoes. They may even be confident enough to jump from low heights, and be able to ride a tricycle.
Beaver, Brewster, et all, (2001:125). In my observation, TC3 tidy up the play area, in the centre, to have space to make a jigsaw. He puts the small toys on the right side of the room, and the big toys on the left side. Some of the toys are still there, and TC3 put them in a box. I have observed TC3 while putting together the jigsaw, he look at the picture of the jigsaw, then started to pick the edges from the pile, looking for the pieces with a straight end, and assemble it together.
