CAUSES OF MARKING ERRORS:- 1:- PROCESS OF MARKING For marking of answer books at SSC and HSSC level sub examiners are engaged from school and college sides for each subject. Each marking center is overall supervised by the supervisor appointed by the board from senior educationists, preferably from the heads of the institutions. The marking includes: a) Marking of MCQs. b) Marking of short questions. c) Marking of subjective type questions. d) Question wise posting of award on the face sheet of the A/book and posting of the total award thereof. e) Transferring the question wise award and total award on the bubble sheet by filling of bubbles. f) Transferring the total award in figures and words on triplicate award lists manually, against fictitious roll numbers. All the sub examiners and head examiners are required to do their job in letter and spirit observing all the directions/instructions passed to them verbally in seminars and in the form of a booklet. 2:-BRIEF PROCESS OF COMPILATION OF RESULT:- a) The Secrecy branch receives marked A/Books along with award lists from the marking centers. The chief secrecy officer (CSO) dispatches award lists to Award Section. After arranging these award lists properly, the Award Section sends one copy of award lists each to the Computer Section and the relevant branch. b) At the same time the CSO dispatches award part and MCQ part of the A/books to the outsource firm NIFT. c) The firm scans the award part and MCQ part of the A/books to compile the subject wise result. d) The computer section feeds the award lists and compiles the subject wise results. e) NIFT result and the board computer section results are compared. f) Huge differences (up to 50% in some subjects) are found as a result of this comparison. g) These differences are cleared by the CSO with the help of Secrecy officers, by consulting
