Crime in this world is something that seems to never disappear, but what are the causes of these crimes? Many people say that poverty is one of the biggest reasons for crime, but there are also many others. Such as TV and video game violence, kids are beginning to play violent video games earlier in their childhood. More options are family problems, where you were brought up, lack of love in a family and people lacking in hope or faith. Each of these ideas have similar effects on the rate of crime. Experts say poverty is one of the biggest reasons for crime in today’s world. The United States is a capitalist country, which offers us the opportunity to buy whatever we want. All of the commercials on TV saying how great all of these new products are and people cant afford these things. That’s when crime comes into the picture. Everyone wants material things and a lot of people would do anything to get these new products. The environment that you’re brought up in can also change the way that people go about their lives and can have a huge influence on the way they do things. Poor neighborhoods are known for developing many criminals because of their surroundings. Drugs, guns and gangs are a common theme of these neighborhoods. Once your there its hard to get out, even if you move away to a nicer neighborhood. You still have to get rid of your old friends who peer pressure you to sell drugs or do drugs with them, or even do anything illegal with them. Parents are everything to us; they raise us, love us and teach us the ways of life. What happens when a parent doesn’t have the skills to raise their children, this could be a tremendous and underrated factor for crime. Parents can be very violent to their children and they will learn from that and start being violent themselves, whether it’s to other children or even using violence to steal certain things that
