Mrs. Rogers GE 103 03/23/2012 The Causes of Divorce Growing up together and dreaming about the day they would be married and living together, John and Mary made plans every months of their seven years relationship. Mary went through college daydreaming about the days she would wake up by her loved one. After graduation, Mary and John had a beautiful wedding day at her favorite beach, leaving the next day to Paris for honeymoon; however, Mary could not wait to get home and be a wife. Soon enough, Mary finds out marriage is not as she daydreamed every day and after one year she filled for divorce. From the past to the present, people all over the world have determined to live together. Nevertheless, some couples are unable to maintain their relationship; therefore, they choose divorce, which is one of the solutions to cope with problems between husband and wife. Furthermore, most people think carefully before they get married. However, the divorce rates trend to continually increase nowadays. There are three main causes of divorce : changing woman’s role, stress by modern living and lack of communication. The first significant cause of recent rise in rats of divorce is that women completely change in roles. For many years, the male role was to provide for the family; however, women have been going to work and providing for the family. Women start to earn respect in the work environment and start to choose the career they want to follow. As a result of, man has to stay home and provide homework and childcare. It can be clearly seen that women are independent from money as they can earn money by themselves to support their living cost. Accordingly, the divorces rates recently rise.
