Procrastination: The deadly effects that follow Say that you’re one of those middle-aged surveyors going around asking, or as I like to say, demanding, people for their unbiased and honest opinion about what you ask them. The question that you ask them is what is their view about procrastination and has it affect them before. Now, as the surveyor, you know that your job is to ask the humble public this question, but then again, at the same time you’re answering the question yourself, mostly because you know it’s happened to you along the line. Procrastination has happened to people, generally students and employed adults of all kind, along their lives. Now I know that most people that read this already know what procrastination is and already understand the concept of it, but for those that don’t know, allow me to enlighten you. Procrastination is the act of slacking off from an assignment or a job thus resulting in the lack of work efficiency. In other words, it’s just a fancy way of saying laziness. Now that you know what it means, you’re already thinking in your mind “Oh, so that’s what it is. I’m sure it’s happened to me sometime in my life”. The main question is why does it happen? Now, as a victim of procrastination myself, I have a few reasons on why it happens. The first and foremost reason why procrastination happens is distraction. As you may know, the attention span of some people is relatively short and it is the number one cause of why some, if not all people that procrastinate get distracted easily. For instance, you may be working on some homework for your class and it seems like you’ll get it done before the day ends, but when you look down, you see that nothing’s written down and you soon realize that you’ve been watching the same meme that’s featured on Youtube for the last two hours.
