Activity no. 3: Two Caterings Outside the Campus Introduction: Today, a lot of food service establishment are existing with variant types of services to provide food and drinks to people away from home. They provide food and drinks to one’s needs for a group of clientele like those of employees. This is to satisfy every need for a group of people with different lifestyles. And this is what exactly we’ve been seeing in our community now. On a food service establishment, one function that being done is the catering service. That’s why it is a great opportunity on the food service establishment to have this function. And once that there is an opportunity, there would be a great the profit too. And in this activity, we will be able to know the things about catering. Objectives: 1. To know more about catering. 2. To apply the knowledge on how to manage a catering function for the future career of the HRM student. 3. To apply the knowledge regarding table setting, skirting and food service. Discussion: First Catering: June 25, 2008 at the Function Hall In June 25, 2008, a seminar was held at the Function Hall of Laguna State Polytechnic University. It was a seminar that talks about on how to take lead on an organization. It was participated by the faculties and some student officers of the campus and lead by the guest speakers from Nagcarlan, Laguna. It was located at Brgy. Macatad, Siniloan, Laguna. It was a memorable occasion for everyone because of the blessing they receive upon the birth of the dearest child of Mr. and Mrs. Ferno. At seven o’clock in the morning, we began to travel from our town to KM3 restaurant to prepare the needs in the catering function. Upon arriving at the place, we went on our assignments and begun to work. We took all the utensils on the area where it is being hid and wiped it with a cloth. Some of us had prepared a tables and chairs. The buffet table was decorated by different design of skirting. The other had filled the water container with water and ice. Then after all things had been set and done, we mop the floor and get ready for the arrival of the guests. By twelve o’clock, the guests had begun to arrive.
