The company that has been chosen is a small health care company, Stay and Care Senior Services. This facility delivers health care services to 100 senior citizens and in two locations. Stay and Care Senior Services operates two Senior Day programs that assist 70 to 100 people per day during normal business hours. This company also holds Assisted Living facility that serves 25 residents, in a 24 hour time span. In order for the company to do their part in preserving worldly resources the company developed a recycle and waste management program. The waste management program consists of two programs such as the recycling and waste management. The waste prevention program is responsible for helping reduce waste before it is formed. Leaders are responsible for educating the staff on the importance of waste management and recycling and ways to maintain a clean environment and express the benefits for future generations to come. Once the staff comprehends the concept and accepts it, it will not be too difficult to get them to use utensils that are non-disposable. By using non disposable utensils, plates and cups, we are able to meet sanitary standards in the facilities. With this program the company is able to maintain the effort to reduce the amount of waste that goes into local land fields. The office also found it beneficial deciding to recycle office supplies such as newspapers, magazines, old computers, printers, office supplies, and all old metal appliances that can be refurbished and used again. Over a great period of time now the team has gain strengths on maintaining consistency by increasing the awareness to 85% among daytime employees and 90% of the personnel obey the program in place. The first recommendation consists of leaders practicing what they speak. Leaders must be sincere about the program and be active in showing what is expected from the staff. It is vital for leaders to have a recycle rewards program. This program will highlight all the participants who are practicing in the new company initiative to go green and be recognized for doing it. Leaders must actively encourage the team to develop a culture of recycling on the premises. If there is any department or group who excel at reducing waste output should be acknowledged weekly to keep the consistency of the program going. The second most important consideration should be for leaders to be effective communicators. This skill would improve the way employees are influenced so that others can follow their lead without doubting there leadership. Prioritizing the ethical problems is a core value of the company’s goals and purposes. Ethical issues should be a priority core value of the company. The third recommendation consists of leaders being clear on company’s agenda: give participants updates on progress; develop rewards and praise system for participants who enthusiastically take part in the initiative and set evaluation system to encourage those who are not meeting the goal and expectations of the company plan.
