Once the sketch was done the lead detective on her case was Detective Gauldin. Detective Gauldin thought it would be best to release the sketch to the public on the local news. With the sketch of the man a name Ronald Cotton had game up, Ronald had been in trouble before with the police.
I was driving to school, on time as usual, when I noticed a little old lady lying upside down in the steep driveway. It was a strange sight to see. I thought, “People are weird.” Then this innocent elderly woman raised her head and I saw the pain, confusion and blood on her face. I immediately turned around to help this poor lady. As a result, her daughter suffered nearly complete paralysis. Together, they formed the first MADD chapter in Maryland (Loewit-Phillips & Goldbas, 2013). In order to bring nationwide attention to the dangers of drinking and driving, MADD began staging public protests, revealing judges and prosecutors who failed to bring offenders to justice, and uncovering the prevalence of accidents related to drunk driving. Casey Anthony Trial and the Social Contract Theory CRJ 141 Professor D' Arcy Section 2 Known as the “social media trial of the century” by Time Magazine, the trial of Casey Anthony stirred many opinions during the nearly two months of proceedings (Cloud, 2011). Anthony is alleged to have killed her two year old daughter Caylee in Orlando, Florida. Anthony was first investigated by police after her mother contacted 911 and reported she had not seen her grand-daughter in a month. Casey was eventually acquitted of the homicide, but was found guilty on four counts of lying to police. She was credited with time served and was released shortly after her sentencing hearing.
